However, later the same day I also requested the credit by Secure Message (for "baggage fees) and it was approved. Very YMMV now but still doable. 2/10/2017
Southwest Airlines GCs work fairly easily. I've generally bought them for $150 and said they're excess baggage fees.

For the travel benefits , we can pay for our award ticket taxes using the Chase Ritz card, but if the award ticket is paid using AA miles and not with UR will there still be travel benefits?

Hi,
I see the Chase Ritz Carlton card has the option to spend $75,000/yr to get the Platinum status. Just wondering what is the best time in the year to reach the $75K spend for the Platinum status? Marriott refreshes the status on 2/1 every year, if I reach the $75K spend in June 2020, will I have Platinum status immediately? When will the Platinum status expire? Is it 1/31/21 or 1/31/22?
Thanks

Question about upgrading from Chase Bonvoy Boundless to RC card. When you do so, does your cardmember year change at all? Like if with my Boundless card i expect to 35k free night in April, would i get the RC 50k free night in April as well? Or will it be one year from upgrade? How does the annual fee work on the upgrade as well?

Each account anniversary year you make Purchases totaling $75,000 or more you will qualify for Platinum Elite Status through December 31 of the following year.
It's generally better to hit it early in a year as you then get it for the remainder of that year, and the following year. However, you have to make sure that your anniversary year has rolled over. That is to say, in your example if your anniversary date is March 1, 2020 and you hit 75K on June 1, 2020, your counter toward 75K of spend would reset on March 1, 2021 so there would be no point in spending 75K all at once in January 2021 in the hopes of getting platinum through to January 2023.

If you hit 75K in June 2020, you will have Platinum until the end of January 2022. It says Dec 31 but as you noted, Marriott resets a month later.

Not sure how often this is discussed, but is it worth spending $75k to get Platinum status? I'm going to hit Platinum before the end of the year so I'll have it for the rest of next year and into January 2021. With the 15 elite credits coming from my credit card, I'll have to hit 35 nights in 2020 to qualify for all of 2021? At this point in time, I can't say if it's easier for me to spend $75k or hit 35 nights.
