Discussion continues HERE.

This card is under 5/24. You can override 5/24 by having an in-branch (only! online prequalification does NOT override 5/24) pre-approval, or by already being Chase Private Client (as in you see the "Chase Private Client" text on the login screen of the Chase mobile app.)

Landing page with bonus offer (100,000 UR after spending $4,000 in 90 days) is now live:

https://creditcards.chase.com/credit...04&IS2F=Y71UH0

Application page: https://applynow.chase.com/FlexAppWe...L3P&PROMO=DF01

100,000 UR points is worth $1,000 as statement credit, $1,500 when used for travel through the Chase portal, or potentially more if transferred to a partner.

Card features are here:https://www.chase.com/card-benefits/...reserve/travel. The card's Priority Pass includes unlimited guests.

The purchases made that you receive the $300 travel credit (or $85/$100 trusted traveler program credits) for do count towards the minimum spend, but the annual fee does not.

The card is made of the same material as the CSP, and is being shipped UPS Next Day Air Saver to everyone after production (currently (8/26) appears to have about a 3-day delay after approval before shipping.)

You're right doesn't say any but says charges to travel category and I think airline tickets are on that category. They didn't emphasis what that 300 fee is for like AMEX does.

Look at the terms of the Citi Prestige. It even mentions "Air fares". But I don't think you can use their $250 credit to offset airfare purchases.

$250 Air Travel Credit
Purchases made by the Primary cardmember and Authorized Users on the Card Account are eligible for this statement credit. Please allow 1-2 billing cycles after the qualifying incidental air travel fee is charged to your Card Account for statement credit(s) to be posted to the account. This statement credit is an annual benefit available for purchases appearing on your billing statements from December through the following December. Pending transactions that do not post in your December billing cycle will count towards the next year's Air Travel Credit. Airline Fees are defined as purchases made with airlines including Air fares, baggage fees, lounge access and some in-flight purchases. Please allow 1-2 billing cycles after the qualifying air travel expense is charged to your Card Account for statement credit(s) to be posted to the account.

I think this will head to court if Chase refuses to credit the $300 to airfare or hotel purchases.
You're overthinking it. If Chase intended this to only apply to travel incidental charges, they would have explicitly said so. For example, the Chase Ritz card only reimburses incidental charges and the fine print reads as follows:

"To request a statement credit to apply towards qualifying airline incidental purchase(s) made with your Ritz-Carlton Rewards Credit Card, you must contact J.P. Morgan Priority Services at the number on the back of your Ritz-Carlton Rewards Credit Card within 4 billing cycles of the purchase date. Only the following types of non-ticket purchases qualify for this offer: airline lounge day pass, or towards a yearly lounge membership of your choice; airline seat upgrades; airline baggage fees; in-flight Internet/entertainment; in-flight meals."

The terms are too vague for my taste. I let other people apply first and then fight with Chase.

Citi Prestige most definitely does apply the travel credit to airfare.

Yes, 100% plus!!!

People are stupid if they spend $4,000 and then get a $300 credit and miss the mark when they say you spent $3,700.

You can argue all freakin day, or just spend enough over $4,000 to avoid the issue. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

From the Chase URL referenced in the fine print:

"Q. What types of merchants are in the 'travel' category?
A. Merchants in the travel category include airlines, hotels, motels, timeshares, campgrounds, car rental agencies, cruise lines, travel agencies, discount travel sites, and operators of passenger trains, buses, taxis, limousines, ferries, toll bridges and highways, and parking lots and garages. Please note that some merchants that provide transportation and travel-related services are not included in this category; for example, real estate agents, websites or owners that rent vacation properties, in-flight goods and services, on-board cruise line goods and services, sightseeing activities, tourist attractions, merchants within airports, and merchants that rent vehicles for the purpose of hauling. In addition, the purchasing of points or miles does not qualify in this category."

+1

I have. Many times.

It just does it automatically, without me even trying to initiate anything.

Well you could be correct. But Chase appears to make things very clear in my opinion. Within the fine print quoted in a previous which I will provide below as well it states:

"A statement credit will automatically be applied to your account when your card is used for purchases in the travel category, up to $300 in statement credits annually ("annually" means the year beginning with your account open date through the first December statement date of that same year, and each 12 billing cycles starting after your December statement date through the following December statement date). Purchases are when you, or an authorized user, use a card to make purchases of products and services, minus returns or refunds. Buying products and services with your card, in most cases, will count as a purchase; however, the following types of transactions won't count: balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, overdraft advances, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee, if applicable. We do not determine whether merchants correctly identify and bill transactions as being of a certain type. For more information about Chase rewards categories, see www.Chase.com/RewardsCategoryFAQs. Statement credit(s) will post to your account the same day your travel category purchase posts to your account and will appear on your monthly credit card billing statement within 1-2 billing cycles. Qualifying purchases made by authorized users on your account will be included in the $300 Annual Travel Credit. Maximum statement credit accumulation for the Annual Travel Credit is $300 annually. The Annual Travel Credit will be issued for the year in which the transaction posts to your account, through your December statement date. For example, if you pay for baggage fees, but the airline does not post the transaction until after your December statement date, the cost of the baggage fees will be allocated towards the following year's Annual Travel Credit maximum of $300."

When you click on the FAQ's link which Chase provides to define rewards categories, the FAQ's state:

So in my opinion this makes the travel credit clearly defined and since the FAQ's are part of the terms and conditions they can be replied upon until the definition of "travel category" changes in the FAQ section, Chase updates the terms and conditions to define "travel category" differently, or Chase redefines the terms & conditions for the $300 credit. Chase has told us that purchases in the travel category count. Then they also in the terms & conditions link to the FAQ's which defines what the "Travel Category" includes.

The "official" announcement of the card was on The Points Guy. http://thepointsguy.com/2016/08/chas...-reserve-card/ The verified Chase twitter account retweeted his post about it.

It clearly says Chase confirmed to them that the travel credit would apply to anything in the category. Chase also clarified incorrect information in the post: That the CSR doesn't get the Visa Infinite $100 flight discount. If they went out of their way to clarify that, why wouldn't they correct the other information.

Anything in the travel category. It's pretty clear.

well, we'll have to see the terms

should add AF in there, so $4850 ($4k + $300 travel + $100 global entry + $450AF). AF does not count towards 4k
