Chase Authorized Users
Hi all, quick question:
If an authorized user is removed from a Chase Freedom account, can they still use their card because it has the same account number, expiration date, and 3 digit code as the primary cardholder ? Thanks |

Thanks If you don't want that to happen and cannot get the AU's card back, I would just call Chase and ask them to issue you a new account number. |
Hi, a friend of mine who hates Credit cards now (after having to go through a bankruptcy) was kind enough to let me put him as an AU on my Saphire so I could get 5k points. I'm wondering if I can keep him as an AU, and in fact use his card, to help HIM to build up some credit score back up. My understanding is being an AU does get reported to credit bureaus. Anybody knows if that could help him in rebuilding credit?

Using his card or your card doesn't matter because it all goes into the same account/ same reporting to the credit bureau. So as long as it's showing up on his credit report as being an au, just you having the card will help him. |
That was not the case for me. I shared a Chase United Select card as an authorized user with my parents all throughout college. Afterward, whenever I'd try renting an apartment or setting up a utility account of my own, Xperion would show no credit for me.
