3x for first year (as of mid April 2018; this is NOT a referral link):

--NOW DEAD
Key points:
  • $150 (15K UR) sign up bonus
  • Does not seem to be possible to generate referrals for this offer
Does this card earn Ultimate Rewards points or cash back rewards?

It earns Ultimate Rewards points which may be redeemed for cash.

Freedom, Freedom Unlimited, Sapphire, Sapphire Preferred, all versions of Ink, JPM Select, JPM Palladium all earn Ultimate Rewards points. Ultimate Rewards points earned with any of these cards may be redeemed for cash at the rate 1 point = $0.01.

Chase markets Freedom, Unlimited, and Ink Cash as cash rewards, the others as points cards. The difference is in the marketing, not the rewards.

I just received mine and it has no mention of 3x points for the first year. For that matter it doesn't show the 15000 bonus point offering either if they had given me the normal promo.

I called into Chase and the rep told me it only shows 1.5x and additional 2500 if i add a AU. They have reached out to the marketing department for verification. Good thing I saved a screenshot of the application page...
I didn't see any mention of 3x in my materials either, so I sent a secure message, attached a screen shot of the landing page with the 3x verbiage, and got a reply confirming the 3x promo the next day. Needless to say, I took a screen shot of the confirmation

Is the 3x offer completely dead? I was trying to push the application date as long as possible with some expected spend next year, but looks like I missed it.

Just checked the website and a charge posted with 1.5x plus 1.5x bonus points. Looks like everything is as it's supposed to be!

Discussion of the 3X offer starts HERE, but I do not see any copies of the formal terms. I would expect the bonus to cover all spending on the first 12 statements, but Chase customer service should be able to give you a specific date.

I notice that the 3X offer is now capped at $20,000 spend, which would be 30,000 bonus points. Restated, the offer is 30,000 points for $20,000 spend in 12 months.

Cash Back and Points: "Cash Back rewards" are the rewards you earn under the program. Cash Back rewards are tracked as points and each $1 in Cash Back rewards earned is equal to 100 points. You may simply see "Cash Back" in marketing materials when referring to the rewards you earn. How you can earn points: You'll earn points when you, or an authorized user, use a Chase Freedom Unlimited card to make purchases of products and services, minus returns or refunds. Buying products and services with your card, in most cases, will count as a purchase; however, the following types of transactions won't count and won't earn points: balance transfers, cash advances and other cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee, if applicable. 3% Cash Back per $1 spent on all purchases until the earlier of the end of your first year or first $20,000 spent: You'll earn 3% Cash Back rewards for each $1 spent on all purchases made within your first 12 months from account opening, or until you reach $20,000 in purchases, whichever occurs first. The 3% Cash Back rewards will appear on your statement as follows: 1.5% Cash Back rewards plus an additional 1.5% Cash Back rewards for each $1 spent on all purchases. After that, you'll earn 1.5% Cash Back: You'll earn 1.5% Cash Back rewards for each $1 spent. How you can use your points: You can use your points to redeem for any available reward options, including cash, gift cards, travel, and products or services made available through the program or directly from third party merchants. Redemption values for reward options vary. Points expiration/losing points: Your points don't expire as long as your account remains open, however, you will immediately lose all your points if your account status changes, or your account is closed for program misuse, fraudulent activities, failure to pay, bankruptcy, or other reasons described in the terms of the Rewards Program Agreement.

Any idea when they'll update to the standard offer (15k points + $150)?

I want to do the Chase trifecta (Reserve, Freedom and Freedom and Unlimited), but given most of my purchases are restaurants, my spend levels will not warrant apply the current offer.
