This thread is a continuation of the pre-2016 discussion.

The 5/24 rule for Chase, where 5 or more new accounts in 24 months can result in an application denial, appears to apply to Marriott personal cards but not the Business version of the Marriott card. For up to date information, please consult the wiki at Applying for Chase Credit Cards, 2017 onward .

What are the current offers?
There are currently 3 noteworthy offers -with $3k minimum spend in 3 months. They do NOT include a one-night category 1-4 certificate the first year, but they do include a category 1-5 certificate in subsequent years (and one includes it in the first year after min spend threshold):
  • 120k (for first $12k in purchases) + 7.5k AU, AF waived first year.
Landing page link no longer working as of 3/1/18 application page (Still active as of 3/1/18)
  • 80k for $3k in purchases + 7.5k AU, AF not waived first year.
Landing page application page (Still active as of 3/1/18)
  • 75k for $3k in purchases, AF waived first year.
    Application page
  • $200 statement credit after 1st purchase + 2 Cat 1-5 free nights (after $3k in purchases) + 7.5k AU, AF waived first year.
    Landing page
Inactive (old offers) below
  • 100k + 7.5k AU, AF not waived first year.
    Landing page
  • 100k + 7.5k AU, AF not waived first year.
Landing page (As of May 5 2017 this page's Application Page simply says "Offer Unavailable")
  • 40k + $200 credit for first purchase + 5k AU, AF waived first year.
Offer details page (not a standard landing page) application page
Links seem to be dead on above offer
Is there a business version of this card?
Yes. There are four 75K business Visa offers for $3K spend in the first 3 months; $99 annual fee is not waived.
Landing page 1 application page 1 (this landing page link & application page link no longer working)
Landing page 2 application page 2
Landing page 3 application page 3
Application page 4 (no matching landing page)
The landing pages above formerly contained 100K offers (for $5K spend) and linked to the following application pages. Preliminary reports indicate that the app pages below are now tied to 80K offers instead. Because it is not clear whether the spend amount has dropped to $3K or remains at $5K, the links below are not for the faint of heart.
Application page 1
Application page 2
Note: these offers do not include a category 1-4 certificate as part of the signup bonus. However, they do offer a category 1-5 anniversary cert.
Which offer is better, 80K with no annual fee waiver or 70K with the fee waived for the first year?
There is no universally correct answer. Relevant considerations include these:
  • Are you currently points-rich or cash poor? If you have 1 million Marriott points already, paying $85 for another 10K probably doesn't make sense.
  • What does your typical award redemption look like? Specifically, what yield (cents per point) do you normally get at the properties where you do award stays? Unless you're getting almost a penny a point--paying an $85 fee to buy an extra 10K points is not a good value proposition. (Adjust accordingly if you're considering paying the $99 fee for a business card with 80K bonus.)
  • Will the extra 10K put you over the top for a planned award? If getting another 10K will make the difference between having & not having enough points for an award you expect to book in the near future, taking the points generally makes sense. (Keep in mind that Marriott has added a cash & points award option for stays of 2+ nights, so you won't necessarily need the same number of points as in the past for a given award stay.)
I'm afraid to use a blind application page that doesn't list the signup bonus previously available on a now-expired landing page. How can I trust the links in the wiki?
How? The same way you'd trust the advice you're reading right now. If that makes you uneasy, OK -- but don't post in the thread asking for further reassurance. It'll be fine. Really.
Can I apply for this card and earn the bonus after doing so previously?
See the wiki and related discussion in Applying for Chase Credit Cards- May 2015-Present.
Once I meet the card's initial spending requirement, how soon will I receive my signup bonus points?
Bonus points typically accrue at the close of the billing period in which you incur the corresponding charges. Points should appear in your hotel/airline account within a few days thereafter.

NOTE: If you complete your required spending in the last 7-10 days of the statement period, the bonus may not post until the following month's statement, even if the regular per-dollar points post on the first statement. This is normal behavior for Chase and is not worth a phone call.
If I hold both personal and business Marriott cards, will I receive a 15-night credit toward status for each?
Reports vary wildly. Some FTers report only 15 credits regardless of how many Marriott cards you hold, while other customers report receiving a 30-night credit. There is no known method of ensuring that you receive the double credit.
When will the Elite Night Credit for spend on the card (1 night for each $3K) appear in my account?
According to this discussion, it can take anywhere from one week to almost two months after the close of the applicable statement. There are also reports that the night posts approximately ten days after the calendar month that the $3k is reached, regardless of the statement closing date. So in this instance, if you need that night to reach status by the end of the year, the spend would need to be met by the end of November in order for the night to post in December.
How do I make a booking using a free-night cert?
Follow these steps:
  • Select "Use Rewards points" when conducting your search for availability.
  • Select "Marriott Rewards Redemption" for a property at or below the category stated on the free-night cert. (You can filter search results by category.) The selection option will show the cost per night in MR points.
  • On the reservation confirmation page, under section 3 (Summary of Charges) you should see a highlighted box with a note that "You have unused e-certificate(s) that match your reservation." Underneath that box will be radio buttons allowing you to attach your cert(s) or, in the alternative, to use points ("order new e-certificate(s)").
Can I exchange a soon-to-expire free-night cert for points? Extend its expiration? What if the cert has already expired?
Marriott Rewards customer service will extend a free-night cert by one year from the date of the request. Each cert may be extended only once.

We have no reports of Marriott allowing certs to be redeemed for points, nor any reports of Marriott allowing expired certs to be revived/extended.
If I cancel my card after the annual free-night cert has posted, will I lose the cert?
No. Once a cert is in your Marriott account, it will not be clawed back even if you cancel your card to avoid paying the annual fee.
Are there bonuses for signing up for the Marriott Rewards program itself?
Yes. There are two publicly available offers for new members to the Marriott Rewards program itself: If you think it's possible you will have any paid Marriott stays after you join, you should sign up for one of these offers before applying for the credit card. Make sure you give your new Marriott Rewards number on the credit card application, to tie the offers together.

Marriott Credit Card Offers & Associated Benefits (2016>)

Someone on reddit got targeted for 70k AFW + 10k AU. First time I heard of an offer with an AU bonus that high. Screenshot: http://imgur.com/7TNPVw8

Let's see if he can get the link.

Hi guys, does anyone know when annual free night is posted? In the middle of anniversary month or some random dates? Thanks.

Anyone try the link in the new year?

Looks like landing page still shows up fine with a expiration date of 12/31/15.

Wondering if the offer still works now.

Take a screen shot of the landing page then apply. If the landing page still shows 70k bonus, you're good to go.

Landing page has the following on it though,

"Apply By December 31, 2015 to earn your 70,000 bonus points"

You can still get the 70k offer if you log in to your Marriott account and then click on the box for travel rewards credit cards. It's still displaying the 70k offer with no expiration date.

There are two landing pages for the 70k bonus (both links are in the wiki). One shows December 31st, the other doesn't.

Are there any special offers for the Marriott Business card? Looks like the main public offer is 70k.

Two questions about this card:

1) Did they change the material? I thought it used to be metallic, now it feels more like the UA Club card.

2) For current card holders, when will the EQN for 2016 post?

Anniversary date of card issuance. About the same time you get your electronic free night certificate.

The alternate 70K links still work but you need to be logged onto your MR account first. It takes a few seconds to get to the proper page.

The 70K offer is also still available after you login. Click "How to earn with rewards partners"

it's not working, I click the 70K alternate application page, it ask me to log in , then got this:

70,000 bonus points after you spend $2,000 in your first 3 months from account opening

1 free night stay after account approval (Category 1-4 hotels)

and if I click: "Learn More and Apply" it will say offer no longer works and go back to regular 50K offer page
