Similar thread on IHG Forum here: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/intercontinental-hotels-ihg-rewards-club-intercontinental-ambassador/1232030-annual-free-night-cert-ihg-rewards-club-visa-mastercard-23.html Currently, the IHG credit card is NOT subject to Chase's 5/24 restriction.

IMPORTANT NOTE: As of April 2018, a new IHG card is being released. There are changes, including a limit to the value of the annual free night certificate (40,000 point vs. any hotel).
Ongoing discussion can be found here, in the IHG forum.
https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/inte...valuation.html

Existing card members can use "any hotel" certificates that were issued/will be issued prior to April 30th. Any Anniversary Night issued BEFORE May 1, 2018 is still valid at any IHG hotel worldwide.
Certificates issued AFTER May 1 will be under the new T & C's.

From Chase:

Update: Were changing the Anniversary Free Night on your IHG Rewards Club Select Credit Card

On May 1, 2018, were changing the Anniversary Free Night benefit associated with your IHG Rewards Club Select Credit Card.

Heres whats changing

Here is the list of IHG hotels that will NO LONGER be available for certificate redemption: https://www.ihg.com/content/us/en/deals/partner-offers/anniversary-free-night?_PMID=99634986&cm_mmc=CJ-_-4453693-_-7718223-_-www.ihg.com%2Fcontent&glat=AFFI&setPMCookies=true& url=https://www.ihg.com/content/us/en/deals/partner-offers/anniversary-free-night

See post 527 regarding an 80,000-point offer: "When I made my reservation, when I got past the point of picking my hotel, and picked my room, there was an active link on the bottom of the page for the 80000+$50 offer."

Q. Once I meet the $1000 (or $2000) spending requirement, how soon will I receive my bonus points?
Q. Can I apply for this card and earn the bonus after doing so previously?

A. For answers to these and other questions, see the wiki and related discussion in the master discussion thread Applying for Chase Credit Cards, 2017 onward

Hmm, I didn't know this offer was elusive. Both my wife and I see it. We do have IHG platinum. I make a dummy reservation (New York for example) and on the final page just where you would click the Confirm button, there is the offer.

Who mailed the offer to you, Chase/IHG, or somebody else?

If Chase/IHG, check to see if there is a phone number in the mailing that one can call to apply by phone.

If somebody else sent you the offer, I suspect that you're out of luck.

Try this. Though it has been exploited big time on the Chinese site in the past few days so no idea if it still work.

So, get this:

I received the flyer for this in the mail. Seems a much better deal than the Hilton one I got recently because redemptions are much lower with IHG. So I went to the website as instructed in the flyer. On that site, it asks you to sign in to your account. When I did, I received a screen that said this deal was not applicable to me, they could only offer 60K. So I called. The IHG agent transferred me to Chase, where I talked to a robot. I think they had done brain surgery on her. She was unable to respond to anything that wasn't in her script. I explained to her the situation; she promptly starts to try to sell me on the card, describing all the benefits. It did no good to explain I knew them. So I finally realized I'd just have to sit back and let her do her spiel. I was able to break her out of her robotic trance just enough to confirm that I'd receive the 80k and not 60k. Applied via phone (a 30 minute deal by the time she'd recited her script), approved.

Shouldn't be too hard to make this spend. I successfully did the $4K in 3 months for the Sapphire Reserve. I'll grab my points and run.

Does anyone have more than one of these cards? I currently have two Freedoms and was curious if it was possible to have more than one IHG card. Free night is well worth $50 AF...

Question 80K is Now The Norm?

I heard through a couple front desks that they have recently begun offering the 80K signup in person. Is this now the norm? Is the 80K + $50 now completely gone?

What I got was equivalent, as they waive the $49 annual fee the first year, and offer the 5K for another user.

I just got approved for the 80K + 5k AU + $50 offer. I am a gold ambassador and found the offer on the confirmation for an upcoming stay.

Oh man! I guess the elite status route is still the way to go. Since the Inn Business promo has long since expired, any other fast way to Gold Status?

Buy ambassador status for $200. That gets you automatic gold.
