Chase Private Clients may be pre-approved for better or different offers, it's worth asking your banker.

My math says a 50K offer. Where do the extra points come from?
The extra 5000 points come from adding an authorized user after you have been approved for the card.
no longer available

Is there a business card?
Yes, and Flyertalk has a thread devoted to the business card: United business card currently offering 30K miles: United MP Business card: public offer now 50K miles!!

Can I apply for this card and earn the bonus after doing so previously?
How long should I wait between canceling a card and then reapplying?
What's the Chase "5/24" policy I keep hearing about?
Now that I've completed the required spend, when will my signup bonus post?

See the wiki and related discussion in Applying for Chase Credit Cards, 2017 onward

Where can I find an online copy of the guide to the card's benefits (such as purchase protection, car rental CDW coverage, etc.)?
Go to https://www.chasebenefits.com/unitedVW4

A few of the best features of the card include priority boarding, a free checked bag, and increased award ticket availability. Priority boarding and the free checked bag for cardholders is included even on the new "basic economy" fares.

For discussion of Mileage Plus benefits, see the master thread in the United forum, found here: United MileagePlus Master Wiki

That's because the results are mixed, haha. Personally I have the increased award space, but I know people who don't. YMMV.

Would I still qualify for Priority boarding on United flights even I didn't use the card to purchase the flights?

Is there only one level of "increased" availability, or multiple levels? I seem to remember threads (from several years ago) that implied there were multiple levels.

So how are you determining whether or not you have "increased" award availability?

Because of the 5/24 rule, I was a bit skeptical that my daughter would get approved for this card, but I thought I'd try -- especially because she's likely to book a Basic Economy ticket where the free baggage allowance would come in handy (domestically, she'd get both a regular-sized carry-on AND a checked bag, right?). Somewhat to my surprise, she was instantly approved. How long does it take UA's system to recognize her as a Chase cardholder eligible for the free bag benefits?

EDIT: Looking through some blog posts, it looks like you have to book your UA tickets WITH your Chase Explorer card to get the bag benefits (unlike with some other airlines). Yikes. If this is true, I guess she needs to get her card before booking. Any expedited solutions? Any virtual cards offered?

No virtual number and probably no expedited delivery. How soon does she need to book? United has a Fare Lock feature for, I believe, up to 7 days.

I'm not sure about multiple levels, but when I search award space, I get access to XN fares. There's also text denoting "this is only available to Chase MileagePlus cardholders".

Aw, that's too bad. I'll have to put her on AA for this trip. She already has one of those credit cards.

Are you able to post links to these posts? I also need to find time to read the small print. The bag thing is a show stopper for me if I can't use that benefit when not using the card to book (I have to use a corporate Amex to book my flights).

Start here:

Which Airline cards do not require card be used in order to waive baggage fees?

Bear in mind that things do change. When in doubt I prefer to look at the original source (i.e. the published terms of the card), rather than relying on blog posts or Flyertalk discussions.

Thanks. I did also just read the card terms as published on the official website, and it's clear you DO need to book flight with the card to qualify for the free bag.

This does not seem to be the case with priority boarding. No mention of having to pay with card to qualify for that perk.

I think that's wrong. You should check what United says about their Basic Economy policy, and what United says Explorer card holders do or don't have exemptions for with Basic Economy. Or find the right thread in the United forum to figure that out. This is not the right thread to be sure you're getting the right answers on something like this.

Most airlines don't let you a bring a regular-sized carry-on in Basic Economy, only a "personal item". AA is getting rid of that restriction come early September, and I think DL may not have it, but I'm under the impression that UA has it and has not indicated yet that they're planning to follow AA in getting rid of it.

And if your daughter can't bring on a full-size carryon, would she still want to book Basic Economy (on an airline which bans that in Basic Economy at the time she's flying)?

I downgraded my Explorer card to the no-annual fee version in April 2017, and still see award availability that is "Exclusively available to you as a MileagePlus Chase Cardmember". In fact, I just took advantage of this availability for a trans-atlantic flight a week ago.

Question about Chase Mileageplus Explorer Bonus?

I was approved and received a 70k mile sign up bonus in early 2017 for the old version of the Mileageplus Explorer Card. I downgraded it 1 year after (earlier in 2018) to avoid a second annual fee.

It seems they've 'upgraded' or changed it - not sure if it's now a 'new' or different card - and when I logged in online United targeted me online for a 60k mile + $0 annual fee sign up bonus.

I called Chase asking if I was eligible for this sign up bonus again even though it was within 24 months and they said no. But for some reason it's still letting me apply when I click "Get Started" on the application. Would I be at risk of not getting the sign up bonus if I applied? I only want this for the sign up bonus.

Targeted emails, or links, mean nothing. The Marketing Dept. has to justify it's existence. If 24 months haven't elapsed since your last bonus you'll have to wait. Sorry.

It's the same product with refreshed benefits. If you attempt to apply now, your application will be denied because you're not eligible for the same product within 24 months of receiving the signup bonus.
