They said sorry, no business credit to report or look at and stated business income isn't enough. Sigh...
Open an Amex business card and try again in 60 days.

So unless you can produce a copy of the memo on Chase letterhead, there is no exemption.
People who got denied co-branded cards are ONLY being told the 5/24 if they are stupid enough to call Chase Recon when they did not get instant approvals. If they are denied even without calling, then there are other reasons that have caused the denial, but definitely not from the 5/24 rule.

There are numerous data on this thread that people waited out their deferred status and eventually got approvals.

I take it you haven't bothered to read the explanation in this thread's wiki.

Yes, kudos to you on that. There were others on the thread who said differently though.

No. The rule does not apply to applications for the Ink Plus business card or to co-branded cards such as United, Hyatt, IHG, etc.
For months we've figured out that 5/24 doesn't apply to business cards (on which you don't call, anyway), nor to personal partner cards (on which you don't call, anyway). That's based on no one having gotten a written rejection for a business card or a personal partner card which mentioned 5/24.
Again - if you look back on the thread, there is less consensus than you think, many have said that the 5/24 applies to all proprietary cards Freedom/Slate/Sapphire/Ink.

while they have reported plenty of denial letters for CSP and Freedom listing 5/24
As I have read, the letter says something along the lines of 'Too many credit cards opened in the past two years' The '5' in 5/24 has been derived from people reporting on conversations with reconsideration agents, and empirical evidence of approval/denials along with application histories.

Thinking about adding an authorized user to my CSP. I have questions about what an authorized user can and cannot do:

1.) Can authorized users make payments to the card from a separate online chase account login?

2.) Can authorized users make a bill pay using their own bank to pay the credit card?

3.) Can authorized users transfer points to their loyalty accounts without my consent?

4.) Can authorized users transfer points to their UR account without my consent?

Basically, I am trying to see if an authorized user can earn points for themselves without my involvement. I would like for the authorized user to be able to earn bonus points, but I don't want to be bothered with asking for payments and point transfer requests.

No

Not unless you give them your login info

3.) Can authorized users transfer points to their loyalty accounts without my consent?

See above

4.) Can authorized users transfer points to their UR account without my consent?

See above also. Keep in mind that they wouldn't have their own UR account unless they have their own card.

Any points that they earn as an authorized user are your points. Sounds like this other person needs their own card.

Sounds like what you're asking is whether an AU can access your CSP account via their own chase.com account (which would be necessary for 1, 3 and 4). I think the answer is no.

Although I'm an AU on mrs. snic's Chase accounts, and she's an AU on my accounts, only the primary cardholder's accounts show up when one of us log in to chase.com. Also, there's a link to add existing credit card accounts to your online account, and I've never seen accounts I'm an AU on listed as an account I could add. (Citi is different - you can give an AU access through their citi.com account.)

Ink Plus application

I decided I would like to apply for the Ink Plus business card, since I realized I can get 5x points for paying my cell phone and cable bill. I own a rental property, so the rent I collect is what I will use as my business income (approximately $24K). I will apply with my SSN.

I have studied this thread. I realize the Ink Plus card can be very difficult to obtain. I think I have a chance greater than zero, but I don't want to waste a credit pull for no reason.

I have opened 3 credit cards in the past 2 years, and was added as an AU on 1. I've had a Chase Freedom card for a little over 2 years. I spend on it regularly in the bonus categories. In June I got a Chase Hyatt card. In July I applied for CSP. I initially got pending, but called and was able to gain approval. I've spent (and paid off) over $50,000 on the CSP since I opened it. I have a combined total of $72K in available credit with Chase.

From what I have read in this thread, I gather these points are true:

-I should not call in to voluntarily reduce any of my credit lines. If this is an issue Chase may shuffle the money around on their own

-If I receive a pending status, I should NOT call a CSR. This will lead to an interrogation and a likely denial.

-I am under the 5/24 rule, and at any rate this rule does not apply to business accounts. Or is it that business accounts don't count toward the 5/24 rule?

Any other general tips before I apply?

advise please...I have a regular sapphire with $30k credit for a few years. I was auto approved for Ink plus 12 days ago with $32k. I would like to apply for the CSP now. I'm concerned with not getting an auto approval because of the combined $62k credit. Should I try to reduce the limit on the sapphire before I apply or apply now and then call recon and transfer credit around. The 5 cards in 24 months is not a problem.
Also, is 2 apps in 12 days a problem at all?

wow..haven't churned in a while, but not that long ago calling in after a pending was the norm and usually successful after moving credit around. What changed?..

Correct on all. The 5/24 rule does not apply for Business accounts

EIN?

Any thoughts on whether obtaining an EIN and then applying with that will either hurt or help? I'm tempted, but I almost wonder if using my SSN will be better since I have significant credit history and a decent credit score.

Another question, if I'm denied by SSN, can I reapply with an EIN?

Hard to imagine an EIN with no history is better than an SSN with even mediocre credit.

Follow up

Ok, I submitted the app, I used my SSN. I received the following message:

"Thanks for Applying. Please call us as soon as possible at 1-800-759-4088 Mon-Fri 8am to 10pm EST to discuss your application with a Customer Support Specialist. We look forward to speaking with you.
Please reference #XXX when you call.

We look forward to speaking with you."

However, I got an immediate email saying they will let me know in writing within 30 days. I'm going to sit back and see what happens.
