What's the difference between the Ink Bold & Ink Plus cards?
Ink Bold is no longer available. It was a charge card (pay balance in full each month), but it has been discontinued and many accounts were converted to Ink Plus cards with the same account numbers.

Ink Plus is a revolving credit card. It allows you to earn and redeem Chase Ultimate Rewards points (including transfering UR points to air/hotel/rail partners).
What are the best current Ink Plus offers?

The Ink Plus card is no longer available for new applicants. There is a separate thread for The Ink Business Preferred card.

Links for non-targeted Ink Plus 60K offer ($5,000 spend/3 months; annual $95 fee not waived)
There is a report of a 70k offer for the Chase Ink Plus available only through your local Chase Bank office, extended to August 20, 2016. If you recently accepted the 60K offer, you may be able to get the extra 10K simply by asking for it.

There is a no-fee, UR-earning Ink Cash card: https://creditcards.chase.com/ink-bu.../ink-cash-card
Are there are any rules or restrictions to keep in mind when applying for an Ink card?
What is the "5/24" policy?
Are targeted offers exempt from the 5/24 policy?
If my application isn't approved instantly, should I call in?
How can I determine the deadline for meeting the spend requirement to earn the signup bonus?
Once I meet the card's spend requirement, how soon will I receive my signup bonus points?
After being denied, how long should I wait before applying again for the same card?
How long should I wait after closing my card before applying again for the same card?

See the wiki & current discussion at Applying for Chase Credit Cards, 2017 onward.
Are there special earning categories?
Yes. You earn 5 points per dollar on the first $50,000 spent annually at office supply stores, and on cellular phone, landline, internet, and cable TV services. (Sirius XM Radio also qualifies.)

In addition, you earn 2 points per dollar on the first $50,000 spent annually at gas stations and for hotel accommodations when purchased directly from the hotel.

NOT ALL Ink cards earn the 5x and 2x bonus categories above. Not "Old Ink Bold" that earns 7,500 bonus points for $25,000 spend, 15,000 points for $50,000, and 25,000 points for $100,000 spend.

Where can I find the Ink Plus Guide to Benefits?
What are the rules for transferring UR points to other users or to my own air/hotel/rail accounts?
Closing Ink Plus cards
It is possible to pay the annual fee for the Chase Ink Plus business card, then close the account and get a refund of the fee up to 6 months after it was charged. This provides a total of 18 months of earning up to 5X points for free. Make sure your points are transferred out (either to another UR account owned by you or a spouse, or to an air/hotel partner) before you close the account.

Huh?

The rumor/leak stated that it would happen in March. It did not specify any particular day in March, so even if true, it could be as early as March 1 but it could as late as March 31.

So it not happening yet does not prove it won't happen in March! You'll have wait until sometime in April (if no reports of it happening surface) to know that it didn't happen in March.

Furthermore, denials take time, and we don't know if the date it happens affect applications already in progress or not. (No one ever figured that out back in March 2015, when the original 5/24 rule happened, because it took a while before people realized there was a 5/24 rule that had been instituted.)

Finally, reasons for denial given by phone agents can be bogus. For the real reason for denial, you have to wait for the official denial letter. And that takes yet more time.

So whenever it happens, if it happens, there will be some lag time between when it happens and when we realize that it's happened.

Yes, I applied online 3/7 and for whatever reason it only took a day to get approved. I never spoke to recon or anyone from Chase.

I haven't yet received my card however credit karma is showing it begin to hit my score as well as the Chase website already asking me to take a survey about my experience with the card.

YMMV but I'd say to anyone who is on the edge because of 5/24 might be worth taking a shot at least as of 3/7.

Registered for this forum just to post a data point as I have followed this thread for the past three weeks while I waited.

I applied 2/17 and received the 30 day message for the first few days and have received the two week message since. I called recon the day after applying as I knew I would need to justify applying for this after just receiving the Chase Freedom less than a month ago. When I called, I received a few questions about the business (12 year old, legitimate sole proprietorship) and was told my application would be sent for review. Application status line changed to approved early this afternoon.

Applied 2/25
Approved 3/07

No calls made and I was already pushing my max CL with Chase on my personal cards.

Was pleasantly surprised they allowed me a 5K CL.

I'm feeling like a kid with a candy bar that someone just ripped out of my hands.

2/22 - Applied and went to pending
2/28 - Automated line says 2 weeks
3/10 - Automated line says 7-10 days

Ugh =\

Either way, once I receive my denial letter in the mail, I'm going to call recon. If they don't want my legitimate business purchases through their card, it's their loss.

What to do??? My husband applied for the CSP and Ink Business Cards. He has only the two Southwest cards. And, has had them about a year. He has a legitimate business, income is good, credit rating to excellent. Received instant approval for the CSP, but was denied the Ink card. Any suggestions. Should we call and recon and if so say what? He really does need the Ink to separate his business expenses.

I lowered some accounts proactively ahead of time, but it was a business line limit. I was going to cancel a co-brand card anyway, and I told them I wanted it cancelled in either case. I also had them close another older personal co-brand card that I didn't want anyway. They immediately approved the ink on that same call.

My plan going forward with chase will be just to limit the co-brand cards, and go just with the chase products (ink, freedom, csp, etc.). I plan to just build a stash of UR points for flights. The SW companion pass option would be my only reason for straying, but I have a ton of Marriott points that I can transfer over with vacation packages at least twice to keep the pass for a few years.

If you get a chase refusal, I would just streamline my 5/24 strategy over time to get that approval, and have only non-cobranded cards in my chase wallet. I would time the other company cards in between the 5/24 gaps.
Yep, it turned out to be a denial for me.

I recon'd but they would not budge from their original decision. Too many recent applications/new credit. I offered to transfer from personal credit line to business but they said they don't do that (which sounds like it's in line with what's normally understood to be their protocol). Unfortunately, I don't have any business cards from their to transfer from.

Damn, I really wanted this.

Have him call the reconsideration line. It sounds as though he can make an excellent case for why he should get the card. Don't be intimidated. I've always had good conversations with the analysts and gotten what I need. Sometimes it's just a matter of shuffling credit limits.

You could never transfer personal credit to business credit and vice versa. This isn't just a Chase thing but all banks do this.

That could easily be attributable to the vagaries of the Postal Service. I'd give it a few more days.

Applied 2/18..Approved 3/11

Asked to call after applying. Called next day, asked me to fax IRS FEIN document. Sent it immediately. Message of 7-10 days. Called 2 days later to make sure they got it, they said to check in a week. Message changed to 14 days. A week later I get a letter asking for the same information, called again to see if they got the fax. Talked to Account Specialist (or similar group), answered bunch of questions about business. Was sorta approved but after further review. Kept calling the automated line. Message changed to 30 days. And today finally approved.

I am going to kiss the card, hug it, dance with it, always take it out with me, never leave it alone etc etc

Seriously.....FU Chase.

Applied for the ink+ on 2/19. Got a message upon applying to call them immediately, and also received an e-mail telling me "30 days". Received the "2 weeks" message on the automated line every day through 3/6. On March 3/7, it switched to "30 days". Today (3/11), it noted I was approved. At no point did I call in, other than the automated status line.

Fairly short credit history: BoA Cash Rewards 10/13, 2x Store credit cards 3/14 and 6/14, CSP 5/15, IHG 1/16, and a AMEX PRG from 2/16 which wouldn't have yet shown up on the pull for the Ink+. Also have a 2.5 year banking relationship with Chase.

Now to decide if/when I apply for the Chase Hyatt, the last card I want before 5/24 supposedly kicks in on co-branded cards sometime in April...

What number are y'all using for the automated line?
I've seen as many as 5 or 6 floating around.

These three?

(800) 432-3117 – General Application Status Line, automated
(800) 436-7927 – Alternative General Application Status Line, automated
(800) 955-9900 – General Card Services and Application status, automated
