Dumb Q: Does anyone know what the merchant's transaction fee would be on a $0.50 purchase at a vending machine?

I think it depends on the contract. Normal merchant it would be like 5 to 10 cents flat fee + 2 to 3%. But vending machine that only sells things around $1 or so, it has to be less.

I wish the vending machines around here would sell $0.50 items. I have yet to see any vending machine item less than $0.85.. most over $1.

When I was a kid (I'm 35), the vending machines used to cell sodas for .50. Now it's .75 at least, or $1. The last time I looked at vending machine prices for candy (which was a long time ago), I think it was around .75. Prices are always going up. Just the way it is.

The ones at my work won't even recognize my CSP when swiped due to it being a metal card; Apple Pay works fine though. Honestly I should probably use them less often because they charge 10 cents for using a card.
