I have two chase card (IHG and Hyatt) with the last application (approved) in Feb 2015... should I wait a bit longer to apply for Chase United 50K bonus card? and should I SM chase to lower the credit limit of the current two cards before applying for the next one (united)?

New to the Chase game myself. My old man had a bad experience with Chase CLD'ing him every month despite him PIF and no negative info and low util. When they brought his card down to $2k, he told them to piss off.

I currently have:
CSP (03/2015)
Freedom Sig. (04/2015)

9 personal cards

I have 9 personal cards and no business card. Got all cards in the last 10 months and opened a checking account. Just got to love Chase.

1. Freedom (09/14)
2. Sapphire Preferred (11/14)
3. British Airways (09/14)
4. United Mileage Plus (12/14)
5. Southwest Plus (07/15)
6. Southwest Premier (07/15)
7. IHG Club (01/15)
8. Marriott (04/15)
9. Hyatt (07/15)

Every time I apply, I believe that this is the time when Chase will deny me a credit card but never happened. Just pay my balances on time.

Awesome!

Do they take into account your income? I'm a student so I barely break 30k a year and currently have ~$50k CL generally and $20k with Chase (Freedom, CSP, United, IHG).

Planning on reducing my Chase CLs so I can get the SW CP early next year, but at this point, do you think Chase will still be friendly to someone of my more limited means?

I am also a student and I make around 45k a year. I have reduced my CL to minimum on all cards that I have. Also, I think opening a checking account with chase and paying your bills on time will highly improve your chances of getting an application approved. My credit score hovers in 700-720 range.

All auto approvals or did you have to call in to get them approved?

Sapphire Preferred, Freedom, & United Explorer. Been using that combo for quite some time now.
Would love the Ink to add to the combo but don't have a personal business.

I've generally had a few Chase accounts open at any one time for the past several years. Currently I have:

Southwest Rapid Rewards Premier (07/2013)
Marriott Rewards (10/2014)
IHG Rewards (02/2015)
Marriott Rewards Business (02/2015)
United MP Explorer (07/2015)

I tried an app for the UA card in May but it went to pending. I called reconsideration and they rejected me for opening too many new accounts recently. "We want to see how you handle all that new credit," the rep said. He refused to consider my credit score of over 800 or my low ratio of CL to income. I applied for the same card again last month and was auto-approved, with an extremely high limit.

I was at Chase branch recently and was told that I am pre approved for the Sapphire card. I have 8 new cards in the last 2 years and this I understand is now a reason for denial. Is it possible that the branch process may be more flexible when it comes to approving people with checking, savings accounts and other chase relationships? Should I apply or its a guaranteed waste of a hard pull?

Question How many Chase cards at one time

I currently have the Chase Hyatt and United cards. I was considering the Chase Fairmont card for my upcoming trip to Maui and wanted to know if there is a limit on the number of Chase cards I can have. Credit score is approx. 825

There are no known limits. I personally have four personal and two business. I believe I've read about a person who had seven, but I can't remember.

I have twelve active Chase cards, all personal. There's no limit to the number of cards, it's all based on total credit with Chase. I'll admit it's annoying having a bunch of $1-2k CL cards, but that's the Chase life.
