Does CL transfer trigger another credit pull?
Wanted to close my Marriott card before AF due, and transfer the CL to my new CSP card, but the CSR told me because the new CL is so high, they need to get lending dept to review which may trigger another credit pull. Does anyone have similar experience? What would you do? Give up the CL to avoid the credit pull, or does it worth the pull to keep the CL?

It's really up to you. I wouldn't care one way or the other. Hard pulls never seemed to stop me getting any cards, and my total CL is more than enough that I don't mind losing any of it right now.
But each case is different. |
I did a transfer today. The "generic" CSR mentioned that they may need to do a credit check but the "lending specialist" who I was transferred to said they wouldn't need to because they would just look at a "snapshot".
Maybe it varies from case to case, but they would tell you if they needed to. |
I have done it many times in the past with no Credit pull. Last time was about 6 months ago. It may vary depending on length of credit history with Chase?
|
I've shuffled my Chase CLs around at least 6 times over the years and never incurred an HP, even for $50k swings.
|
I've also never gotten a hard pull for transferring credit limits with Chase.

Same here soft pull
Citi however are hard pull kings. They don't even have a worthwhile procedure in place to move credit around, and yet they still do a hard credit pull. Go figure:mad::confused: |
