so there's no option to downgrade ? only move credit line to bold? i currently have ink plus and AF is due in Feb. so was thinking to downgrade

What's the difference between Ink Bold and Ink Plus?

Also, there's no way my parents would sign up for a credit card just to pay their cell and cable tv bill. They're parents. Not us cool point-maximizing type of people.

AFAIK, the only difference between Ink Bold and Ink Plus is that the former is a charge card (must be paid in full every month) while the latter is a credit card (allows you to revolve balance). And the Ink Plus looks nicer IMO.

Also the CSP has no foreign exchange fee. If you ever travel outside the US, you'll need at least one such card anyway.

This. Downgrading the CSP to CS keeps 2% on dining (or 2.14%), but removes the 2% on travel (or 2.14%). If you have other cards for travel (such as an Amex Gold or airline credit card), or don't travel much, it may not be worth it. Like bribro said, you can apply for the Ink Plus/Bold to get access to the transfer partners, or upgrade your card back from CS to CSP (and pay the AF) if you need to. Also, if you downgrade the CSP to a CS, you can re-apply for a CSP at some point in the future.

I definitely recommend keeping the card. Your restaurant spend alone is enough to justify the annual fee. I have a tough time finding a Category 2 Hyatt hotel for under $100. For 8,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards Points you can get a free night in Hyatt Category 2. So earning 8,000 points would justify the $95 annual fee!

I love the CSP!

Is this from Chase, since people have downgraded from the CSP to CS, isn't that a downgrade??

My two go to cards are SPG and CSP... I'm pretty much covered on everything I need to do with these cards. I get other cards for the sign up bonus, but I always go back to these cards.
