Moderator caution: Referral offers -or- links are NOT permitted in any thread in the Chase forum. Instead, see: Credit card referral offers (post only in this thread, read Wikipost first Please do not post ANY application links in the Wikipost or thread, even if you think they are not referral links. If you think there is an extraordinary circumstance where the link is difficult to find elsewhere, consult with a moderator before posting.

What is the best current offer?
A. Beginning April 14, 2022, the public offer has been increased to 80,000 Bonus Points After You Spend $4,000 On Purchases In The First 3 Months From Account Opening. Annual fee [$95] is not waived. This offer is now publicly available. Based on some datapoints, it may be possible to get this offer at your local Chase branch with a one year waiver of the annual fee.

For any CSP offer, be sure to check the pricing details before applying. Normally, the annual fee for the CSP for year 2 and later is $95; however, in mid-2014 and then again more recently, Chase began randomly changing the pricing for some visits to the pages above, with AF as high as $150. If you get a page with that higher pricing, try reloading the page.

Q. Can I apply for this card and earn the bonus after doing so previously?

A. This card is subject to the Chase 5/24 policy. For details, see the wiki and related discussion in Applying for Chase Credit Cards, 2017 onward.

As of August 2018, all Chase Sapphire cards are subject to an additional restriction:
The product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card who received a new cardmember bonus within the last 48 months.
See Sapphire (CSR & CSP) 48 months between bonuses, August 2018 for details and ongoing discussion.

Q. I'm an authorized user for a card issued to my spouse/parent. Does that prevent me from signing up for the same card and earning a bonus?

A. No, being an authorized user does not prevent you from obtaining your own card / bonus.

Q. I just met the spend requirement. When will I receive my signup bonus points?

A. In most cases, your bonus will be credited after the close of the monthly billing cycle in which you meet the spend requirement. (Chase never posts signup bonuses mid-cycle.)

However, owing to a quirk in Chase's system, bonuses associated with charges incurred in the last ~7 days of a billing period may not post until the end of the following billing period. This is true even if the charges appear on your current statement and generate the standard number of points per dollar spent.

Thus, if you meet your bonus spend threshold late in your billing cycle, you may not receive the corresponding signup bonus until the following month. Calling Chase to complain will not change this, so be patient and enjoy your points when they finally appear.

Q. What's the value of a UR point? What are the best redemption options?

A. Because these questions are not specific to the Sapphire Preferred card, see discussion in the following separate threads:
Q. What are the benefits of this card other than UR points?

Benefits Guide https://www.chasebenefits.com/sapphirepreferred

A. See the discussion in Chase Sapphire Preferred Benefits Thread, especially the source documents referenced in the wiki.

Just applied and received instant approval for the 50k offer. 1 amex charge card(8/15), amex credit card(9/15) and citi exec(10/15) in the past 24 months.

Is their any recent knowledge if the credit bureaus will combine pulls ? I am considering applying for the citi prestige today, will that require a call in to get approval?

I have not received the cards yet but I could login onto Chase account and see those cards available (I have a chase bank account)

Here is my question. I didn't knew about the 50K for Sapphire & 15K for Freedom offers (That were posted today). Is there anyway I can call them and ask them to bump up my miles on those cards? or Did I miss the bus by few days?

Thanks in Advance :-)

You can secure message Chase and ask for a bump. They used to easily match your card to a higher publicly available offer if the date of your application was within 3 month (?) of public offer coming out. Not sure if they still keep doing that but it does not hurt to ask

Credit Bureaus could combine pulls from the same bank. Citi will pull Prestige application, so it is not combinable with Chase Sapphire pull. You might have to call Citi to get approved for Prestige, no one knows until you applied.

I just spoke with my Chase banker. He said the 50K offer (and the new freedom offer) are on the "place mats" that he uses to show customers their options so he suspects this offer will be good for at least 4-6 months.

Joined so I could add my experience to the data pool. Applied for Sapphire Preferred in July with exactly 5 cards in the past two years, one of which was a charge card and another a store card so I was hoping they would not consider one or both in regards to the 5/24 rule. Received the 7-10 business days message and an eventual denial. Called recon, was told to apply once one of my five cards fell off in September.

Applied again 6 days ago, got the 7-10 days message again. Woke up the next morning to a "Welcome" email and the card showing on my Chase profile. Now I'll have to ask for the 50k offer to be applied instead of the 40k!

Had a CSP opened on August 21 (about 87 days ago I think), asked to be matched to 50K from 40K, they said yes, got my 10K at the same time they responded to my SM.

Question for those a bit more knowledgeable: when is the best time to call and ask for the 50k point offer to be applied rather than the 40k? Should I call ASAP or wait until I meet the minimum spend?

There was a 50k+5k with a 3k spend exactly two years ago. At least the annual fee is waived.

Just send them an SM now & ask for the match. They may set it up now, or they may tell you to check back after you've met the spend req't. There is no reason to wait to ask them.

Thanks for the info, I will do so tomorrow and try to report back on what they say in case anyone else plans on doing the same.

Is it bad to add yourself as an authorized user (to get the 5,000 bonus points), maybe with a variant of your name (e.g., Bill vs. William)? Would the card then show up twice on your credit report? If so, is that bad (e.g., magnifies the effect of reduced average age of accounts, and looks like you have more credit available)? Or do people usually just put a pet's name, etc so that it doesn't affect your credit report? (I don't have a spouse nor kids.)

Tomorrow would mark 3 months since opening my Sapphire card. Called this morning and requested the extra 10k points and was approved instantly. I was told that it may take 2-3 billing cycles for the points to post.

7k in spend for what its worth.
