United Explorer Card and balance transfers for min spend limit?
I recently got the 50,000 point offer on the United Explorer card form Visa in the mail. The terms are the same that people have been seeing, but it had a $2k spend limit in 2 months (as opposed to $1k).
I'm trying to trim back expenses and don't want to do the gift card churn, so I was wondering, would a balance transfer count? The reason I ask is my Virgin America Elevate card is my primary card, and I'm about to book a lot of flights on it which should be somewhere about $1200. Assuming I pay it off immediately after I balance transfer I'll get the double bang with the additional Virgin points and then get me more than halfway there with United card. |

Look at the fine print , rules normally say balance transfer doesn't count , also you would be hit with a 3% on that amount
