Reapplying for Chase Slate?
I'm trying to help my friend get out of debt (18g of revolving, among many cards, if you must know). I recommended he get a Chase Slate card, transfer all of his debt to it, and pay it down during the 18 months while it's interest free.
I was pretty shocked to hear that he 'forgot' that he already had this card, which he applied for maybe six years ago. It's still active. Is there any way for him to close the card, and re-apply to get the introductory offer? The guy is a mess, I know. But I'm trying to help him out here. |

It goes without saying though, there is not much point to doing a balance transfer unless he is willing to cut down on his spending or stop using some of the other cards, a balance transfer away from cards that are normally used is a good way to get deeper in debt. |
I think the Citi Simplicity card is offering 18 mos with 0% APR on BT's and purchases right now as well. Maybe he could get approved for that. I think there is a 3% BT fee though.
