Going to a Chase branch for better luck?

Need to bulk up my UA miles, so I'm going to apply for the Chase Sapphire VISA card to get the 40,000 UR points to transfer to my UA account. Just need the Explorer card sign up bonus, but I last cancelled it on 11/24/12. How long do I have to wait to re-apply for the Explorer card? Or could I apply for the Sapphire Mastercard at the same time as the Sapphire VISA? Would I have better luck going to a Chase branch and pleading my case? I plan to spend over $7,000 on these two cards for a one time medical purchase and want all the miles or UR points I can grab. Thanks.

Chase cards normally aren't churnable. You get the bonus once.

From what I understand, the personal bankers at Chase can only issue a Sapphire Preferred Visa.

Do some research.

Chase cards are not churnable.

You can only have one CSP version at a time, at least from what I've seen.

If you need a ticket on UA or a Star Alliance carrier (not just Mileage Plus miles), then you can signup for other cards and use those miles to get a ticket.

For instance, the US Airways card from Barclay Bank gives the signup bonus after first spend, which the miles may be used to buy a Star Alliance ticket. Membership Rewards from AMEX can transfer to Air Canada. If you need a few UA points, the SPG AMEX transfers to UA at a 2:1 ratio (not good but something), or to US and other airlines at a 1:1 ratio.

You can also signup for a Ink business card, which usually has a bonus for $10,000 spend, which sounds like you can meet.

Finaly, you may be able to signup for the UA Club card with no annual fee (there is a thread on the UA board), which has a two Mileage Plus miles per dollar spent, so you'd get 28,000 miles for the $14k spend.

Lots of options.

When I log into my UA f/f account, I see the banner for the UA Explorer card with a 30,000 bonus sign up. Even though I terminated that card last November 2012, could I possibly get this card with that bonus? Or does Chase not give bonuses twice? My credit is 786 and I pay off all my credit cards every month. Thanks.
