Applying for Ink Bold and Plus at the same time.
 

Has anyone applied for these two cards at the same time to avoid two inquiries?

I often see people saying to apply for a Chase business and personal at the same time but not two business. I am not seeing why one biz and one pers would work but not two business.

No. Only one.Not sure if that would matter....or would it?

You haven't seen anyone mention applying for two business cards successfully on the same day and neither have I so I would assume it probably won't be successful. Instead of asking why not apply for two, put yourself in the lender's perspective and ask "why should I approve two?"

Chase tends to conduct a telephone interview as part of Ink applications. In addition to the standard questions about the nature of the business, gross revenue, profits, anticipated charge volume, etc you would need to have a persuasive explanation of why you need two cards.

It's easy to think of explanations, such a segregating operating expenses from capital outlays (and the possibility of carrying a balance), but I cannot say if the Chase rep will find this persuasive.

While I know it's an extra hard hit on your credit, my advice would be to go for the charge card first, and then the credit card after a few months. If asked why on the second application, easy to say "I want to carry some of the balance forward if necessary".

I told them i needed 1 card for pay immediately and the other in case I needed to carry an occasional balance
