Consolidating UR points from one card to another?
Last night a family member transferred me all their Freedom points so that I could transfer them to a Chase UR travel partner. For some reason she received a phone call from Chase informing her that her free year on her Sapphire Preferred account was up and that she would be charged $95 (seemed strange to me they would call). She agreed to downgrade to the Sapphire so she would avoid the fee but in going through the "benefits" one thing the CSR said was that "as of this week you can no longer transfer points to another card" which I imagine is how a lot of us here acquire so many Chase UR points! She told him that she had literally just done it to which he replied that we were "very lucky as the program shouldn't be allowing that anymore".
I decided to combine all my households points after hearing that in to my Sapphire Preferred card just in case but has anyone heard of this? It seemed to work fine as of this morning but if you can no longer transfer points to other cards I'm going to have to seriously reconsider my CCard structure :( |
I can still do it just fine as of today.
Maybe the rep was confusing being able to transfer to another card vs transferring to travel partners. You won't be able to do the latter with the downgraded card. |

I don't actually know what's what but if you're about to consolidate your points up to the Sapphire Preferred card so that you can transfer to travel partners it may be worthwhile doing it sooner than later. Here's to hoping they don't ever discontinue that. I will miss all the UR points I acquire for 1c/pt from friends, family, and colleagues :( |

Account-to-Account Point Transfers: • You may transfer Ultimate Rewards points to any other eligible credit card or debit card with Ultimate Rewards earning points, and rebates earned to a credit card earning in rebates. “Rewards” in this section means points or rebates, as applicable. • To determine if you are earning in points or rebates, see the “Ultimate Rewards” section of your credit card statement. • Transfers may only be used to combine rewards belonging to the same individual or business in the Program; or for the purpose of enabling spouses or domestic partners to combine rewards earned in their respective names. • If either the transferee’s or your credit card account(s) or checking account(s), as applicable, are , are in default at the time of the transfer, Chase will not make the transfer. • Once rewards are transferred, they cannot be credited back. |
I just discovered this feature thanks to this thread. I only have one Chase card that earns Ultimate Rewards but the feature to transfer points still appears and it still has a line asking for the number and name of the account holder so at least in theory these transfers are still possible. Would be curious to hear if others are having problems.

It sounds like this has nothing to do with transfer of points between cards held by the same individual, but is rather that chase is clamping down on transfers between individuals not living at the same household. I don't think there is any indication that they are discontinuing the ability to combine points from the same persons Freedom and SP cards, for example.

transfer point from freedom to sapphire preferred?
newbie questions, I have chase freedom and want to transfer my points to my spouse's sapphire preferred. However I couldn't find a way in the ultimaterewards.chase.com website. Transfer points from sapphire preferred to other people's freedom is ok, but not other way?
thank you. |
No, you can't transfer to other people's account. You can only transfer it to your own sapphire preferred account.

How do I transfer Ink Cash points to UR on my new Ink Bold?
Just got a new a new Ink Bold card. I had an Ink Cash card previously. I have heard that you can transfer them to UR. The Chase rep said you can't but I have seen posts on FT that indicate that its possible. How would one go about it?
|
Do you still have the Ink Cash card account, or has it been closed?
Are both card accounts managed through the same User ID at chase.com ? |
Re
Its still open. I can manage them both through my chase online banking account.
