UR question -- dining awards programs
 

I have the Sapphire Preferred Chase card which gives you 2 Ultimate Rewards points per dollar spent at restaurants. Can I register this card with an airline dining program as well, such as United Mileage Plus Dining and earn mileage plus awards as well as ultimate rewards? Or will registering the card with UMP Dining prevent me from earning UR points. (I know that you can't register the same card with two different airline dining programs, but wasn't clear if Chase UR worked the same way.

I have done so with the Costco Amex card and gotten both bonuses.

Yes you can connect.. Totally separate things... It's called double dipping

It's even better right now with the Freedom card at 5/$ for dining. I'm a "vip" on rewards network so I get 5/$ from them as well. Plus, they're running a promo where you get an extra 1,000 points for every $250 spent - which if you hit it fairly close to the 250 mark equates to an extra 4/$. Add the exclusives benefits from the freedom (10 per transaction and 10% bonus) and I can pretty easily clear 15 points per dollar at RN restaurants.
