Chase Sapphire Preferred 70k Offer

My wife and I each received this 70k offer in the mail today. Requires a $3,000 spend within 3 months. I have not thought of this card in the past. Is this considered a good offer?

Yes. I'd take it. At a minimum it's worth $700 cash.

That is 30k more points than the public offer. Yummy, I'd hit that ^

Chase

I see in the offer that I can transfer the points to BA or UA. It also says this is worth $875 towards travel booked through ultimate rewards. I am not familiar with ultimate rewards. Can you help with this?

See here.

Basically you can do lots with 70K UR points.

Wow, what a beautiful offer! With transfer partners like United, BA, Hyatt, and Southwest, you can: take a trip to Asia on United, or make 15 one-way one leg short haul trips in AA planes on BA Avios, or stay up to 14 nights at certain Hyatt properties, or do $1166 of Wanna Get Away flying on Southwest!

Yes, it's a really, really good offer. I'd take it in a second.

You can use Chase UR points two ways:

1. You can transfer them to an airline or a hotel. 70,000 chase points will transfer to United at a 1:1 ratio, giving you 70,000 United miles.

2. You can use Chase UR points as a currency to buy your ticket from an airline directly. The 70k miles is worth a set amount of $875. You'd need to book your ticket through Chase's site, but basically you have $875 to spend on a ticket.

The benefits to transferring them is that if you know what you are doing you can easily use 70,000 to get you a ticket or two that is worth more than $875.

The benefit of using them as their own currency is that you will earn miles for the flight that you book.

I'd take the transfer almost every time, but it does require a bit more initiative to put together a trip that way.

Wow! I am jealous! I got the 50K bonus in January, and I have been quite happy with the SP. I did add the Freedom in May, and as so many have observed on this forum, it is proving to be a great combo. I can combine my UR points from my Freedom, especially earning via the quarterly category 5% bonus, with my SP UR points and really see the total climb quite rapidly.
(And I am not that big a spender.)

I would go for it!

I'll just continue to pile on and add another YES! You'd be foolish to pass it up. Ultimate Rewards Points have become some of the most valuable points out there, even at times rivaling SPG points in my opinion.

70k is a roundtrip ticket to Asia valued at $1100 or more.

I received my CSP card about 3 weeks ago with a "paltry" 40K mile signup.

Any suggestions on how to pursue getting an additional 30K for recently signing up?

Was it a targeted offer or can anybody apply with the online URL provided in the offer?

Add me to the "yes, great offer!" list. If you get targeted for that one, don't miss out!
