Newbie question - if I wanted to redeem the 70k points all for Marriott (not Ritz Carlton) properties, must I then sign up for a Marriotts Rewards card of which I don't have?
Thanks.
Thanks.

No. Marriott and RC points are interchangeable. You can redeem your 70k at Marriott properties.

More than interchangeable. They are the same.

70k just posted to my account. Took a full billing cycle plus a week or so.
Funny thing is - I earned marriott points for the stuff incidentals that were credited.

Purchased two $64. tickets on UA. Both credited no problem at all. I would presume that since they are coded the same that taxes on reward fees could be refunded as well. You do of course have to call to get this done.

Just charged an American Airlines $50 gift card to my Ritz charge today. Will call when it posts in a few days and let you know if I receive credit.
