There were multiple reports of people trying to reduce it to 1500, and Chase automatically increasing it to 2-3000. I haven't seen any recent reports either, but it's doubtful Chase would've gone and reopened that loophole since.
Why would you apply for that card today anyway? The 140k points seems to be the only draw to this card to me?

Even without the 140k points I still think this is an awesome card if you stay at a Ritz even once a year. The upgrade to club level makes it worth the annual fee by itself. The fantastic customer service, travel insurance, airline credit, and marriott status are all reasons to keep the card. With the airline credit I view this as a $100 AF card, and the benefits are definitely worth that to me.

Unfortunately I live in United hub city, and have not flown AA for decade, will not have use of their GC. And my status with United gets pretty much all of the fees waived and gives me Gold status with Marriott as long as their partnership lasts. Unless Chase reimburse gift registry like its competition (Amex Platinum and Citi Prestig), this card has no value to me.

Delta credit
FYI....$50 e-gift cards (which I have had success with in the past) no longer work. It is charged as a gift card purchase by delta. BOOOOO!
Now, whether to keep or not??

Has anyone had a case of Chase clawing back the travel credit? Last month I used up my remaining $150 in 2015 credit towards some bag fees on AA (against one charge of $75 and another of $78). Now I'm seeing a charge of $150 that is reversing the credit received last month. I've sent a SM to Chase asking what is up and will report back, but wondering if anyone else has had this happen. Reversal posted on 12/15.

If the 140k offer comes back I will be on it like a hobo on a ham sandwich. I don't care that Chase has tightened up against people gaming the travel reimbursement benefit. I would find ways to use it as intended because I actually pay for some of my travel.
