Actual T&C language, as of 08.22.15:"Only the following types of non-ticket Net Purchases qualify for this offer: airline lounge day pass, or towards a yearly lounge membership of your choice; airline seat upgrades; airline baggage fees; in-flight internet/entertainment; in-flight meals; Global Entry fees."
As of 1/2/2015, Credit for these charges are based on TRANSACTION (purchase) date, not posting date. If you made an eligible purchase before the end of the year, even if it doesn't post until the following year, you can still receive credit for the previous year. See post #1268
DO NOT attempt to get all $300 in one transaction. Most CSRs will question what incedential charge would be so high. Instead, get multiple smaller gift cards which line up with fees that airline charges. Make sure that whatever amounts you choose, you have an explanation ready for each. For example, AA overweight baggage fee is $150. $50 is first checked bag for 2 ppl. $75 is in the range of upgrade fees, etc.

The deal for 140K points is dead. Chase has replaced it with a complimentary night stay at any Tier 1-4 Ritz-Carlton hotel after spending $2,000 in the first 3 months, available here. As of February 12, 2015, there IS A BETTER known public offer (see below).
The 70K offer is long gone.

Calling JP Morgan Chase CS has indicated they are aware of this issue and CSRs are expecting the 140k points to be honored but no one in this situation has actually received the 140k points as of Dec 28, 2014.

I have both cards. They are different--not one better than the other. Ritz gives Gold or Platinum at Marriott/Ritz; Citi gives no elite status. However, some may already have Marriott Gold from UA or Platinum on its own. Both give a large amount of the fees back for "incidentals," but the Citi has 4th night free at hotels. Both give Priority Pass Select/Lounge Club.
Again, it all depends on what you value. To me, they are both worth it.

I purchased an aa gift card and tried to get reimbursement via sm. they came back stating they needed to see a receipt. I went back very politely stating I did not have a receipt and I was not seeing the requirement for receipt in the program terms. They immediately reimbursed me. Ymmv.

Denied for an Aeroplan award booking ($358 in taxes). Anything I can do? I said in my original SM that it was NOT for ticketing fees.

My prestige AF only 350,with 250 credit it comes down to 100 AF. CITI reimburse you for all air travel related including ticket, award fee... Thats better than Ritz Carlton. And TY point values is more than double ritz point, as well as priority club pass is far more superior than lounge pass. Also, AA lounges included.sign up bonus for prestige can worth~ 960$

The Lounge Club access generally has gotten me one guest, whereas the Prestige is 2 guests. The Amex's card gives no guests.

Just make your guests an AU on your ritz card and they can be sent their own loungeclub card.
