Chase application issues

Hello everyone,

I'm confused by some recent Chase issues regarding a credit card application and was hoping someone could explain to me what could be going wrong.

I applied online for the Chase Continental World MC using a link off Chase's website about 6 weeks ago, was told after submitting to wait 30 days for response... I called about 2 weeks later, Chase said they have no record of the app... I thought that was odd, so I pulled my credit reports, no Chase inquires... so I guess it got lost in electronic transit???

Re-applied with a link off Continental's site for same card soon after, same thing about 30 days notification. Called just now for status, once again they have no record of the application...

I've applied for a ton of airline cards in the past and have never had this happen before, let alone twice. Chase told me to go to a branch to apply, they have no clue what the issue is.

I have 2 other Chase credit cards and my primary checking is Chase as well.

Am I missing something???

Thanks
cp

My wife has the same issue. She applied for the 25K mile CO card about a month ago, no hard pull, no rejection, no letter, no email, no nuttin'. What's going on?

Same issue here. I applied for the UA Mileage Plus 30k no annual fee first year around a month ago and Chase does not have any records from my application. No hard pull also.

Same thing here with the BA 30KMI offer, it has "only" been 2 weeks.

Ditto, same here with that 25k mile CO card. then I applied again and was rejected because I had recently opened the chase BA card.

Chase is useless, they told me to go to a branch to apply, they probably won't honor some of these online mileage/no annual fee deals I bet.

Its a pity that Chase provides my daily use credit card, debit card, checking account and mortgage or I'd leave them...

This also happened to me last february when I applied for the continental 35,000 miles offer. No response, credit pulls, nothing. Originally I thought it was because the offer expired a few days after I applied. After I realized my application had not been received, I applied for the chase 30,000 miles, no annual fee offer and eventually got accepted after initially being denied. Worked out fine for me because I prefer the waived annual fee offer:)

I went into a chase branch, the folks were really nice and tryed to open this CC for me, unfortunatly it is an online offer only and they could not help me...
well hopefully I will get an answer soon.
It is strange how I usually get an immediate response from AMEX, Bank of america...

Chase has reported to me that they are experiencing online app problems and are advising people to go to their nearest branch. Either, this is a very smart way to drive people to their closest branch (then they encourage you to open savings/checking/cds) or they really are having problems. When the Fed placed the new rules on banks it did cause a lot of changes and the web folks at the banks have had a lot of work to get their sites updated.

You cannot apply for chase/BA 30KMI at a local branch, it is a online/phone only offer.

Did this offer expire on March 31 or is it still available?

About 2 weeks ago I applied for the Chase/BA CC and got the "you will get an answer by mail in XXweeks" I tryed to call the CS in India, and they all repeated "you ll get an answer by mail etc." One week later my wife applied and same thing. Today no news, but I know this is usually a way of saying you got denied.

I am surprised because my credit is close to perfect, my wife's is even better, I always get approved by AMEX and other CC on the spot.

Does anyone has this happen to them and got approved (just a longer approval process with chase maybe)?

------------------------------------------

Just after posting this thread, I called chase (1800-432-3117 app status) and I am aproved!
I guess for anyone in the same situation, chase/BA takes longer than your usual CC for aproval.

Chase officer said it is due to changing their computers.

got approved today!

Is there a way to get around the, "It's too late. This credit card application has been archived" excuse?

I called today about a letter I received five weeks ago and was told that I should have called sooner and there was NOTHING they could do now. Somehow I doubt it, because they pulled the letter up right away.
