What is BA's miles expiration policy

Although I have way too many miles on other airlines, this deal appears to be great, but only if I can store the miles for awhile just in case I might have future use for them. So, what is British Air's miles expiration policy?

Thanks..

Is it Unamerican to buy Presidential coins with a British Airways cc?

Is that three years from the posting of miles, or three years from an activity on the account (like the policies of U.S. based airlines)?

Thanks.

Three years from activity:

12.3. If a Member has not earned or redeemed Mileage for 36 consecutive months, all Mileage that has accrued to that date will expire.

I understand the reference to mean diverting $2,000 spending from Starwood American Express card to BA VISA.

Does anybody know how strict Chase is about hard pulls? I have 7 in the last 12 months of which 4 are in the last 6 months. It seems like Citi's policy (while somewhat YMMV) is well known - 7 hard pulls in the last 6 months, but I don't know about Chase.

Just read the thread...considering taking the plunge. Being that I am not currently a member of BA's FF program do I need to sign up for an account first, or will they create one for me when I apply for the card. Thanks.

I believe there's some language in the offer (or somewhere) to the effect that non-members can't sign up for the cc offer until Nov. 16. But it takes five minutes to become a member of the BA exec club and get the membership number; then you can apply online for the card.

If you wait until after Nov. 16, I'm pretty sure you get a BA # automatically assigned to you, but perhaps others can confirm.

It allowed me to sign up and stated if I didn't have a membership one would be created upon approval of the card

With the amount of traffic and probable applications Chase is going to get from this offer, I'm thinking they can be pretty selective with whom they will give a credit card to... and I wonder how this impacts BA's redemption chances now that so many free miles are being offered per person.

Care to point me to the 10 posts in this thread that address this? I saw zero. I read the whole thing before I asked, and I just re-read it again, and while I see people talking about whether or not it is worth a pull, I didn't see anyone answering my question (which is how many pulls Chase allows before a denial). I googled it too, but 10 minutes of googling turned nothing up.

I know early on folks were wondering what was the deadline for this application.

Not sure if it has been posted yet, but FYI, it is Nov 30,2009
