tax at SLC?

I was planning to go from EZE to SCL on Lan chile and I am then connecting to a DL flight to ATL. The tickets are on two total separate records. Do I need to clear immigration and customs and do I have to pay the immigration tax. Thanks

edited because i put in the airport code for salt lake as opposed to the intended Santiago

First question is what citizenship/passport(s) you hold/are entitled to (may be obvious but never hurts to ask).

The Santiago airport website doesn't have any obvious answers as to what international transit facilities are in SCL.

Ask LA at EZE to check you through to ATL and pray that there's a transit desk at SCL. The USD100 visa entry fee is a bit much but understandably so.

You shouldn't have to leave the int'l secured area. You won't even go to immigration.

There is a transit area @ the airport. Argentinian citizens are not charged reciprocity fees.

I think the only countries of citizenship charged the fee are the U.S., Australia and Canada. I know E.U. citizens get in free.

Sorry I should have indicated that I am a US Citizen traveling on a US passport and living in Argentina (with a Mercosur National Identity card). Does this mean I have to pay or as someone above said can I just stay in transit? Also if I can stay intransit will I have access to the Lan Chile lounge?
