Which countries in Central America are letting US tourists in?

A friend who lives in San Salvador informed me that El Salvador is allowing US visitors in. I know Panama is also open now
Are there other countries that are letting US visitors in via commercial aviation?

Thanks

Panama is scheduled to open June 22, in another week.

That I know, the other countries are still closed. All seven countries still see occasional repatriation flights in and out, but regular passenger flights have not resumed. Costa Rica is scheduled to reopen to international flights June 30, but with an uptick in case numbers in the northern part of the country, I'll be surprised if they don't extend the closure.

The Presidential House presented Executive Decree 32 on its Twitter account that regulates the following phases of the economic reopening plan and warned that the new dates are subject to the development of the pandemic. With this change, the first stage that started on June 16 last will last until August 19, that is, it will last more than two months.

The start of the second phase was scheduled for July 7, but was postponed until July 21 due to the increase in cases of covid-19. Then, on Sunday, July 19, President Nayib Bukele announced that after hearing opinions from Health experts, this stage would be extended again but no new date was set.

With the second phase underway, citizens will be able to go for walks in open spaces.

In addition, in this stage that will be active until September 3, the reactivation of all manufacturing is expected to be completed by including operations in the plastics, footwear, cosmetics, creative industries, professional and business services, real estate and shopping center activities. for essential services.

The Government maintains the return of public transport operations for the second phase, three months after its activities were halted as it is considered one of the points of greatest contagion of covid-19. Restaurants and cafes will also be allowed to open in open spaces.

Meanwhile, phase III would start on September 4 and extend until September 18, 2020. For this phase, it would be expected that the informal sector of the economy could go out to operate, although in reality it is already active.

Non-contact sports operations and gyms would also be allowed at this stage. The aeronautical industry resumes its activities for operations in the hub of connections at Monseñor Romero airport.

Meanwhile, if there are no modifications in the previous stages, the fourth phase would start on September 19 and last until October 3. For this period, Salvadorans will be able to do domestic and international tourism after the reactivation of commercial flights at the San Romero airport.

According to Executive Decree 32, the new normality would be reached until October 4, 2020 when it was originally expected to end on August 21. In other words, it will take at least 45 days if new extensions are not applied.

The government indicated that the evaluation of the phases will always depend on the Ministry of Health, while the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare
Too bad more people will die from being malnourished than covid.

According to La Prensa Grafica Monsignor Óscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez International Airport, El Salvador's main passenger terminal, will open on July 22; but only for the transshipment and transit of passengers, as confirmed yesterday by the Autonomous Executive Port Commission (CEPA), entity in charge of its administration. "In this phase 3, Salvadorans or foreigners will not be allowed to come to our territory yet. They will only use the facilities of the passenger terminal to get off a plane coming from the north or south of Central America, and get on immediately to another to go to another destination, . For phase 4, which begins on August 6, the facilities are already expected to receive flights with passengers entering Salvadoran territory.

That's interesting. Transit passengers are such a big part of the operations at SAL. It seems logical that that would be the first operation to return.

Monsignor Óscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez International Airport
I know that's the official name of the airport. I had never heard anyone actually say the whole thing. I am glad that San Oscar Romero is honored that way.

It's a lot simpler in Costa Rica: Aeropuerto Internacional Juan Santamaría.

El Salvador ban on UK

British residents and Salvadorans resident in the UK have been banned on entering El Salvador for some weeks including any who have transited in the UK. According to FCO you can enter if you have spent more than 30 days outside the UK before entering ES so theoretically you can visit Mexico, stay a month and then travel on but how do we get out of the UK?
