Costa Del Sol, El Salvador
 

Hey guys,

I'm going to be in SAL 8:56PM and heading out the next afternoon at 1:20PM. Last time I was here, I stayed at La Libertad and I figured I'd check out the Costa Del Sol this time. It's been about 4 years since I've last visited and had a couple questions:

Couple quick questions:
1) Any Taxi from the airport is ok?
2) Any hotel recommendations?
3) Is everything still paid for in cash(no machine) and USD?

In general 9 pm is rather late to travel to Costa del Sol. Lots of gang activity at night. Probably safer during the day
The airport taxi is safe. Make sure you take a taxi at the kiosk and dont take a free-lance driver.
USD is still the "official currency" and cash is king in most places.

You have a few hotel options, check out booking.com :)
in General, yes it's a bit more dangerous to travel at night, but
if you are going direct to the hotel it should be ok. you can also
have a pick up 'taxi' take you to the hotel they are a bit more, though.
that way it attracts less attention than a regular taxi (i.e. tourist).

if you book a hotel online, ask them if they have a taxi service that may
be safer as they know the people driving.
