Panama City

Hi there,

I shall be doing my first TP run to TPY this October and I wanted to ask you what did you guys do while you were there (besides creating offshore companies and establishing permanent residency). Have you ever taken the bus from the airport? Can you recommend some good hotels? Any updates on the Zika situation?

Thanks!

Make sure you post back here what it was like as I'll be there in December!

If it's your first time there, make sure you go to Miraflores locks (the Canal), then head into town for a stroll around Casco Viejo (old colonial quarter) and have some ceviches at the nearby Mercado de mariscos (fish market).

I wouldn't recommend relying on buses, taxis are the best option to navigate around PC.

I usually stay at the Novotel whenever in town, pretty good value/location for what you pay.

The Bristol. Wonderful boutique hotel. Great food. Great bar.

The Central America board is probably the best place to ask for destination information on PTY http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/central-america-479/

If you're creating an offshore company surely you can put a taxi on expenses and reduce your tax

Offshore companies do not pay ANY tax, so there is nothing to reduce

Welcome to Flyertalk skyscanner and the BA Board.

A few regular Tier Point runners have been to PTY and I suspect this thread will be moved as KARFA has pointed out. There may be trip reports over in the Trip Report forum so see if there is anything there.

A quick google search reveals this re the Zika situation.
