Panama in September?

Mrs. LAXGUY and I are considering a trip to Panama in September but are concerned about the weather. Online research suggests that the weather in Panama City will be OK at that time of year, i.e. not a significant amount of rain, but I'm not sure about the rest of the country.

We are planning a 7-8 day trip with a few days in Panama City and a few days somewhere else in-country. I don't mind an afternoon shower or thunderstorm but would like to minimize the chance of encountering storms that might last most or all of the day. What would be our best bet in Panama, other than Panama City itself?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

You did not ask but I would recommend the Waldorf Astoria in Panama City.

I have not been outside Ciudad de Panama but next time I travel to Panama will be going to Bocas de Toro. Looks amazing.

It rains a lot throughout the year, hard to tell.

Visiting Panama 6 times in the last 20 months, for 3-5 days each time, didn't catch but a brief shower once, Consider myself lucky.

Prepare for rain, this is the tropics
