Panama Canal tours restricted
 

Hi,

I'll be in Panama City for a full day 15 october 2015.

We had been hoping to take the full or partial transit but it seems the only tours i can find have fairly limited dates - ie nil on the above date.

Are there any other non obvious options that i haven't found yet or are do the cruises have limited availability

The dates are the dates. I looked at the schedules of the two companies that give tours and neither offers anything, full or partial transit, on Oct. 15. These schedules are arranged far in advance and have to be coordinated with shipping needs. Availability does not open up later.

Might I suggest going to the visitor center at the Miraflores Locks? I think it's impressive to see the big ships coming through. It's a vantage point you won't get if you're on a boat itself.

I've found on the web an operator called Rudystours who seem to provide small group tours in Panama - I will contact and see what they offer.

See what they have to say. That I know, only two companies do the canal-transit tours. If you're booking with someone else, they'll have to deal with those two companies.
