Someone asked me about this yesterday so I have a copy /paste answer

http://www.hamptoninn.com/en/hp/hote...tyhocn=SJCAPHX (right at the airport, or well , a couple of blocks, take a shuttle because its nowhere 'walking' friendly from the terminal to the hotel, I am almost sure they do have a shuttle

www.ramadaherradura.com/ (Very close by)

http://www.marriott.com/hotels/maps/...otel-san-jose/ (careful here because there is another Marriott located in Santa Ana and that's quite far away from the airport)

the last two are within 15 mins of the airport

Wolfie:
Thanks for the information. How long will it take to get to the airport if we stay at the Hotel Boutique hotel?

at the time when you would be leaving the hotel there is ZERO traffic. I would say 25-30 minutes.

Btw, in the very first hotel I listed (right by the airport) there is a casino, in case you or your wife like those things.

Absolutely the right choice! On a Sunday morning you need no more than 30 mins to drive to the airport. The area around the airport is nowhere near as nice as San Pedro. Have fun!

Good hotels near San Jose Airport

You may also consider the Doubletree Cariari which is 5-7 minutes from the airport depending on traffic. Get your chocolate cookie too.

The Hampton Inn at the SJO airport is the same as you would expect in the States. There isn't a restaurant on site, but you get the same ho-hum free breakfast. There is a restaurant across the street. It might be a Denny's.

The free hotel shuttle is shared with a couple other nearby hotels. From what I could tell, it runs continuously.

Close to the Airport hotels

There is a very nice full service Marriott less then 3 miles from the airport. It has a nice restaurant, gift shop and shuttle to the airport. Excellent swimming pool and beautiful views.

I think there is a RostiPollo's chicken restaurant, as well as a Denny's in the vicinity.

There is a RostiPollo right next door to the Hampton Inn. Delicious roasted chicken.

There is also a Holiday Inn and a casino all clustered together right there. Whatever you do avoid the Doubletree San Jose like the plauge (or Swine Flu)
