Stopover award

Im trying to book an award ticket through AA on CX. The agent said stop-overs are not allowed and i would have to book the itinerary as one-ways=more mileage.

Is that true and would it also be true if i booked via CX and not AA?

If you book a round trip award on CX using AsiaMiles then you are allowed to make two stopovers, two transfers or one open-jaw at either the origin, en route or turnaround point.

So basically you can stopover at your destination plus at one other place either on the way or on the way back (but not both).

By the way for your original itinerary, since you are booking through AA, the AA rules apply, so you are best to ask that in the AA forum.
