I wonder if you want a good dessert if it's worth ordering a cake for $300

Ha! If I want to pay for cake, I think I will be better off getting one from places like MO (or even Maxim's), no?
Actually here's a great revenue raising idea. CX should offer sparking wine in J with the option for passengers to purchase champagne.

I'm not sure if CX will help you serve a cake that you bring onboard yourself.

And only certain types of cake will get through security screening anyway.

There is now a Lady M boutique near the Wing which probably tops the QF salted caramel cheesecake as best dessert available at HKG

Is eating at Lady M better than Dining at the Y?

Btw, there was one true 'enhancement': bacon-flavoured nuts! I even asked for a second (on flight to HYD) and tossed it over salad. CX should offer a second serving (as option) to go with the salad.

I'm intrigued! What sort of cake is it for that price? And what sort of person orders it! I'm guessing it must be some sort of celebration cake, which makes me think they would offer to sell Champagne in Y if that was the case as an add on at least! @:-)

If I booked a cake, would that ruin my chances of an upgrade?

Premium Economy meal service

Hi all,

Sorry I can't seem to find the answer to this by search. My recollection is that Premium Economy meals are "enhanced" from Economy; that is, the first meal was provided a main course from Business Class.

There doesn't seem to be any reference to this on the CX website, so i am not sure if this is no longer the case. Are the meals in Premium Economy any different to those in Economy? Are there better snacks?

Just curious - about to book an award ticket for a friend....

Thanks!

Joe

For any longhaul PE flight both meals (if there are two) have different main courses from Y

Yes, it may not look like or feel like it, but it is the case.

New Meal Concept and Special Meals???

How do special meals fit into the new J meal concept with the multiple appetizer/entree and anytime choices on Transpacific flights? For instance if I order an HNML on HKG-SEA would I be restricted to only whatever they serve as HNML on the two scheduled meal services, or could I also order off the anytime menu between the two services?

It's interesting that CX would offer "bacon" flavored nuts on a flight to a Muslim-majority destination like HYD.

But then, JL offers two beef options (Japanese and Western) on their Delhi flights so I guess anything is possible.

Wiki was not born and raised there.

In any case, Hyderabadi Hindus are not necessarily avid pork-eaters either.
