CX548 and CX549 - CX or KA aircraft?
My recollection is that CX548 and CX549 between HKG and NRT were operated by KA before it joined OW. Does anyone know if KA aircrafts are still used on both of these flights? Are the flights staffed by CX or KA crew? Which version of the inflight entertainment is used (CX or KA)?
Many thanks in advance!

Regional aircraft are used, sometimes there has been the new 773 and also once in a while 74A with new J and F (and Y), but usually just regular 777 and A330 with standard IFE.

You are talking about CX6807/KA361(NRT-HKG),CX6806/KA360(HKG-NRT) code share flights of NRT-HKG which had almost same arrival/depature schedule with CX548/549.

Just wondering if anyone has actually taken these flights in the last month or so?

Done it many times. Most recent a month or two back. Definitely CX metal. Usually an A330. Think I have also done it on a regional 777. Some dates may have new configs but you'll have to check due to 773 (long-haul) delivery schedule. If you want 773 best bet is CX500 but not guaranteed because I don't know what day you're flying, and even then you won't know because CX can change whenever they like. It's just a regular regular regional flight. Longer on the way back to HKG due to winds. IFE not working (not exactly abnormal for CX nowadays) on the NRT-HKG leg so I collected more of those ridiculous vouchers. Anything else?

I flew CX504/505 a couple of times the past fall and it was always operated by a 744 (once the 74A). I think that it will remain that way. Depending on the day, it seems that CX548/549 is using a variety of aircrafts: 333 (with F), 343 (without F), etc...

Cx 549 first class
planning a trip from JFK to HND to SIN. Although JAL has direct flight to SIN connecting to my AA inbound flight from JFK, JAL website says it's a 767-300 with recliner J seat. I don't like the idea of 7 hours red eye flight on recliner seat. I also see from Cathay website that they have a First class service from HND to HKG on 744, which will allow me to stay in HKG and connect to a another CX flight to SIN on J next day. Just want to find out if anyone has recent experience flying CX549 on F seat. Are they the same New First Class seats as long haul CX first class? Also does CX change equipment in last minute on this route? I did have experience of last minute equipment change from 773 to A330 when I was flying from HKG to KUL earlier this year.
Would appreciate your input in order to determine if it's worthwhile to trade a direct JAL flight to CX flight connecting flights with overnight stay in HKG

This is all in the FAQ; look under "T" for Tokyo Haneda: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/15321199-post4.html
But I'll give you props for doing a search first (how else did you manage to dredge up this thread? ). The short answer to your questions are yes and no respectively. CX548/9 is one of the few regionals that consistently holds as a 74A.

Thanks for your quick response! I normally "play" in AA forum and know my way around there. I am fairly new to CX forum despite taking some CX flights in the past. The info you put in the thread is amazing! I never saw one like this with such a comprehensive review on route/equipment on AA board. But then AA fleet is pretty simple and we kind of feel we know it all already.
Definitely great work! I will use it often for my future travel plan on CX! Thanks again!^^

burg_rtw has also posted a copy of the CX549 F menu in the menus thread, if you want to take a look at the kind of meals that will be served (the menus rotate on a monthly or tri-monthly process so might not be exactly the same as your flight, but it may give you an idea of what to expect): http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/16470142-post33.html

Mmmmm... Interesting. Does the flight 77w you are ticketed for have F class with seats just like long haul international flight?
