CX standby chance I class ticket

hi there,
I have an I class ticket waitlisted for the following:
28/6 YVR-HKG
29/6 YVR-HKG
25/7 YVR-HKG
26/7 YVR-HKG
what are my chances of getting on standby as a DM member?
Thank you

I think only RM can give you an accurate answer . It will depend on the loads of the day.

I don't know what is your POS.
But it seems that CX is simply not opening the I fare bucket on any longhaul.
It seems to be a policy of not selling the cheapest fare, even if loads are low.

I do see some I class on connecting itineraries - would you be eligible to book connecting flight to somewhere (obviously need to be covid-proof that you can fly there even if you abandon it at HKG)

bought the ticket months ago pre Covid on CX website. is it safe to assume, if wide open and i go standby that my chances as DM should be decent?

Most long-haul travellers today are those who have to travel without much of a choice (business, repatriation, etc.). If I were a CX manager, I would definitely not sell cheap fare these days.

Indeed. And all the airline choices I have have raised their premium fares. ALl of them.
There will be a time when price-sensitive leisure travelers will return on longhaul, but it will take many, many months and the reopening of borders.
In the meanwhile, it is costly to operate flights with few pax in one or both directions There is cargo revenue but freight rates have gone down.
ernestnywang and DiamondMile like this.
