CX 2004 Timetable

I was wondering if anyone still has a copy of a CX 2004 timetable.

I am after the flight schedule for

LHR-HKG
HKG-LHR

For Apr/May please

I don’t have a copy but IIRC at that point CX only had two flights a day, and they were the same as CX251 and CX255.

The returns from LHR were the two evening departures at 6pm and 10pm.

Sorry, the oldest one I still keep is from the 2005-06 winter season. There are 4 flights a day then:

B=Breakfast
R=Brunch
M=Main Meal
*New flights eff. 01DEC2005

For the first half of the 2006 summer season (which covers Apr. and May and may be more comparable), CX maintains the same frequency:

B=Breakfast
R=Brunch
M=Main Meal

All flights are FCY.

Furthermore, I can confirm that CX252/253 was added on 18JUL2002, operating 4 times a week (2367) and increasing the total frequency from 14 to 18 per week. CX253/HKGLHR had 1505/2105 while CX252/LHRHKG had 1305/0800+1. The inflight ad card placed in the meal tray said "LONDON Light Fly to London between lunch and dinner" in English and "倫敦寫意飛行 下午啟程 即晚輕鬆抵達倫敦" in Chinese. This was around the same time that CXpress and the "Asia's world city" special livery were introduced.

By the time CX256/257 was added, the meal tray ad card said
"4 Times Daily between Hong Kong and London. The only airline that moves you around the clock. 每日4班香港直飛倫敦，早午晚隨時動身。"
"With our new morning flight, we move you between Hong Kong and London 4 times a day - and offer smooth connections to over 90 destinations worldwide. Cathay Pacific wishes you and your family a wonderful holiday season."
"現在，國泰航空不停站香港直飛倫敦已增至每日4班，班次全港最多。新增航班，更是全港唯一上午起飛的直航 倫敦班次，方便您輕鬆連接至英國及歐洲各大城市。國泰航空，謹祝您有一個與別不同的冬日假期！ "

So the timeline should be:
17JUL2002 and before: CX250/251/254/255, 14 flights a week
From 18JUL2002 to 30NOV2005: CX252/253 added, initially with 4 flights a week (18 flights a week) but then became daily (21 flights a week) sometime before Oct. 2005
01DEC2005 on: CX256/257 added, 28 flights a week

Based on the info I have and what you have given me, I have narrowed down my flights to CX252 and CX253.

Nice and it happens to be the first one. The first CX timetable I took was the Jul. 2001 issue. Unfortunately, I didn't start thinking about keeping them until the Oct. 2005 issue, as they had a new cover design starting Mar. 2006.

The online file is not as complete, unfortunately. It doesn't have the seatmaps, news, master CX schedule, and office contacts, etc. in the beginning part of the booklet.

My oldest one is schedule of 1st July 98 to 24th October 98. That was the time I joined the CLUB.
There were only late night flights from HKG, 251 and 255.

Sure. I recently downloaded an App called App in the Air.

It goes through your emails and fills in all the flight details etc. For the ones missing, they have a system by which you can upload all your old flights. Not sure how back their database go, but my earliest records of flights are from 2001. And the HK trip was in 2004. So I have been busy trying to get all the flight details for the missing flights. With personal photos, emails, and forums like this one, I have managed to get all the info. This was the last one and proving to be elusive.

But thanks to all of you I now have what I need. Many thanks once again.

In my younger days, I use to pick a lot of these timetables at various airports, just for the fun of it. But now I realise how useful they can be. Not just for me but for others too.

Hopefully, I will also be able to contribute on this forum one day.

Nice. We can almost make a collection together (unfortunately it would be almost impossible to upload). For CX, I have all issues from Oct. 2005. For KA, I have all issues from Mar. 2006. The Oct. 2012 - Mar. 2013 issue was the last one printed.

If you wouldn't mind, could you please kindly help confirm/clarify a few things on https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/国泰航空航点 that I have not yet been able to confirm?
1. When did CX stop its own service to HAN? The page only had 2003 without an exact date. Don't know if your 2003 issue happen to cover the termination. CX continued the joint-venture with VN afterwards for quite a few years.
2. The ZRH flight terminated on 30APR2001, but was what terminated CX's own service, or code-share with SR? I vaguely remember the service was just a code-share with SR and not CX's own metal, or did both exist? It would be really wonderful if you can help look into the few issues before 2001, too!
3. Does your collection cover when CX last operated to MRU by any chance (i. e., does the 1998 summer issue you have include MRU)?
4. The page said CX operated twice weekly to IST from 08AUG1998 to 15NOV2001, but like the ZRH one, was it CX's own service or a code-share with TK, or did both exist?

Thanks for sharing! I would also like to have record of my travel before 2000 (I kept all my boarding passes and tickets since) but unfortunately don't have anything other than vague memory. I only started using email in 2000, too.

ernestnywang and Wasabi Tofu : do you have timetables going as far back as when Melbourne was not a direct flight, but was a stop via Syd? I wonder was it still cx100/101 back then. Thanks in advance

still had the tag on Syd until early 90s

Were they allowed to sell it as a domestic flight, like United did?

no it is like Bne-cns and Mel-adl

the UA sector I thought got taken off? But for some reason it did exist for a little while

Also it was op by 742/743 before 89 and i think the tag on was not daily.
