Refund processing time CX due to Corona travel restrictions

I am wondering: On Wednesday I requested a refund of my ticket (AMS-HKG-BKK roundtrip), but the money has not yet been returned to my credit card account.

For those who already went through this process: how long does it take to be refunded?

Did u mean Wednesday 3 days ago? It won’t be that fast. It took me at least two weeks, maybe three to receive refund for a flight cancelled in early Feb.

Another one i cancelled on 24 February still not yet credited.

For Asia Miles which might be different than CX refunds I have done four since the COVID hit three of my refunds have been processed between one and two weeks (got one earlier this week). The last one should hit next week if they stay on that schedule.

For my CX refund, I confirmed cancel on 9 Feb, and got it on my credit card on 12 Feb.

I don't know of any airline that regularly processes refunds that quickly, especially not now, with the heavy volume of refund requests. SQ will make you wait weeks.

TK took two days for me when I had to cancel a flight with them earlier this week. Cancelled on the 8th (Sunday no less) got notification from Amex on 10th the credit had hit my account though the notification showed it hit on the 9th so maybe one day.

I cancelled one on 9 Mar 2020 but still haven't got the money credit to my card as of today. I remember the agent told me that it will take around 4-6 weeks to process.
Hope can get it before that time.

I also cancelled one set of tickets at Korean Air but then they only took 3 days to refund me (they claimed it might take a month though)

Is that what they told you or is that what you have experienced? Miles have usually shown up in 2 days for me (possibly less). They have said 4-6 weeks for taxes and fees for me but it has been running less than two weeks so far.

Mine was 3 days but via Vancouver's Cathay Vacation as mine was a Air & Hotel package. Full refund because my flight was cancelled. It maybe different if you ask for a refund but your flight is not cancelled.

I am pretty sure they are using taxes as a shorthand for the fees, taxes and carrier surcharges you pay on an award ticket. I can confirm I got everything I paid on my various award tickets back when I cancelled minus the $120/12,000 AM fee for voluntary cancellations. For involuntary/major schedule changes I got it all back with no fee of course.

I cancelled and requested a refund over the phone on a remaining trip b/c of cancellations on Feb 18th and I still haven't received my refund. I called back again on Mar 13th and they said they would reach out to their HK office to see what is going on. This was for a paid flight not an award. I'm starting to feel like I'll never get the refund.

Your links imply 120 days straight up but I am not sure that is quite accurate according to this website (https://chargebacks911.com/chargeback-time-limit/) both Visa and Mastercard have language similar to this at least in US under "Services Not Provided or Goods Not Received" which seems to fit with a flight being cancelled.

Within 120 days of the last date the cardholder expects to receive the goods or services, not to exceed 540 calendar days from transaction
That implies to me that one has 120 days from when you were to fly to do a chargeback. Or does the above you posted imply you can do a chargeback up to 120 days after the airline has agreed to issue a refund?
