Overseas Spending

3. [to 31 Dec 2019] HSBC (excluding amounts billed in HK and PRC) - 1 mile / $2.78 (HSBC Visa Signature) / $4.16 (other HSBC Credit Cards INCLUDING HSBC Premier World Master) spent (select Overseas Spending category ONLY) / $6.25 (HSBC Visa Signature) spent (NOT select Overseas Spending category) ($300 fee for a year's worth of redemptions)** ++

Is this still the case with for Visa Signature when the 'Mainland China and Macau Spending' red hot category is chosen?

0.4% basic + 2% overseas spend + 1.2% visa signature = 3.6%

i.e. for $100 spent overseas you get 3.6 Rewardcash --> 36 Asia Miles or an earn rate of 100/36 = $2.78/AM

Hi,

Do you know if we get 4% RC with HSBC Red Card on PayMe?
It seems not on my account.
Same for you?

Thanks

Pretty sure HSBC will not allow itself to be beaten with its own P2P stick

Even Alipay real spend isn't getting 4%. HSBC is being pretty restrictive

Are you telling me for the last three or four years Oepay's been around that you don't own at least one Android device?

Even if your main driver is iOS, as is mine (see my screenshots above).

You mean with Alipay or Wechat?

Alipay goods purchase not count for HSBC Red Credit card Asia Miles earning opportunities (HK) 2019

As general rules of thumb:
- if the card/promo does not count goods purchase --> it will not count for bill payment --> it will not count for P2P
- if the card/promo does not count Alipay --> it will not count Wechat

So if Alipay Goods Purchase fails, you can write the card (HSBC Red) off for just about anything else in Alipay or Wechat.

(then again, if the 4% really did apply on Alipay in any way, HSBC will probably have to shut down the earn rate pretty quick)

That's correct. I happen to be working for a company which logo resembles a certain fruit... so there's your reason
