Seems like time for me to cut my CX Amex. I’ve set HSBC for overseas (little to no spend likely for the foreseeable future) and local spend I put on BEA flyer world MasterCard. Only thing I can think of for CX Amex is CX.com ticket purchases and can’t see myself doing any of that for 8-9 months at least. Should I be cancelling it and using this downtime as waiting time to sign up again with potential sign up bonus?

Yes

Better still, have your SO apply for it as you’re cancelling it and issue you supp in round robin.

I've read that some have had difficulty waiving their SC AM card annual fee on other forums, yet when I called today, it seems to be waived automatically without having to speak to a customer service agent. Is this a recent change?

I forgot if I have to speak to anyone last year
I certainly waived my annual fee thru IVR this year.

Important notice: Delivery of eStatements and eAdvices starting 01 June 2020

(For those of us who'd like to keep their paper statements even if we have to pay for it) How many times does HSBC get to opt us into e-statements in a year?

Or do dividend-challenged banks get to ask more than others?

Anyone knows if there is a limit in terms of payment via Alipay or via WeChat linked to a credit card? Wondering if there is a cap.

Thanks

I asked.

For real purchase and bill payment - no - basically your credit limit.

There are limits on P2P ($5,000/day).

Very attractive mileage earning rate for CCP CUP. Looks like this is now a better option than HSBC Red for online spending if (and its sometimes still a big if) the Web site accepts Unionpay for online purchases. Seems like the $1.5/AM rate also applies if you use the Unionpay app instead of Apple Pay, etc. But do Hong Kong retailers accept payments via the Unionpay app? (I've never tried and the app seems very slow)

CCB CUP cannot be added in Apple Pay at present (and AFAIK no Unionpay can be added to Google Pay)

You can add CCB CUP to 云闪付 (Unionpay App) and earn 10X that way. Sasa, Mannings, Wellcome and 759 take those (remember, >=$200 per transaction)

And online too, where accepted.

Many thanks. Unionpay App seems very slow (=recipe for trouble when there's a long queue behind you at the cashier counter), but will give it a try.
Just to confirm: The $5,555.56/month limit is per CCB CUP card? Not per cardholder?

You can add CCB CUP to 云闪付 (Unionpay App) and earn 10X that way. Sasa, Mannings, Wellcome and 759 take those (remember, >=$200 per transaction)

And online too, where accepted.
List of Quickpass (CUP contactless/Apple Pay) HK merchants https://www.unionpayintl.com/imp_fil...n/pdf/pdf2.pdf . Unionpay claims some of the these merchants will accept 云闪付 too, *but not all*.

(Again, all 云闪付 transactions have to be $200 or over)
