Seems like time for me to cut my CX Amex. I’ve set HSBC for overseas (little to no spend likely for the foreseeable future) and local spend I put on BEA flyer world MasterCard. Only thing I can think of for CX Amex is CX.com ticket purchases and can’t see myself doing any of that for 8-9 months at least. Should I be cancelling it and using this downtime as waiting time to sign up again with potential sign up bonus?

I've read that some have had difficulty waiving their SC AM card annual fee on other forums, yet when I called today, it seems to be waived automatically without having to speak to a customer service agent. Is this a recent change?

Looks like this is now a better option than HSBC Red for online spending if (and its sometimes still a big if) the Web site accepts Unionpay for online purchases. Seems like the $1.5/AM rate also applies if you use the Unionpay app instead of Apple Pay, etc. But do Hong Kong retailers accept payments via the Unionpay app? (I've never tried and the app seems very slow)
