MoneyBack Points conversion issues?

I have some expiring AM's so am trying to convert them to MoneyBack points. I've not had a problem in the past doing this.

Seems this can only be done at MoneyBack terminals which seem to be pretty rare these days (but luckily have one near my home). I've tried for the last couple of days and every time it gets stuck on "loading" and doesn't seem to convert the AM to MoneyBack points.

Anyone else having trouble with this recently?

Thanks in advance.

2. An extra 2% RewardCash rebate exclusively for HSBC Premier MasterCard Credit Card is equivalent to an extra 5 times RewardCash. The total maximum amount of extra RewardCash on eligible overseas transactions to be awarded to each HSBC Premier MasterCard Credit Card cardholder in each phase is $300."

Would this mean the spend limit (at the 1.56 / mile level) per phase is a mere $4,687.50?
Are the bonus RC being rewarded retroactively? Based on my spend (all overseas) and RC earning so far my earn rate is something like 4 HKD / mile, when it should be closer to 1.6 HKD / mile?

7. We will calculate the extra RewardCash based on the records we hold on the Registration and the Eligible Transactions. If you qualify for the offer, we will credit the extra RewardCash to your first registered Eligible Credit Card account maintained in our record by 30 June 2020 in relation to phase 1; on or before 30 September 2020 in relation to phase 2; on or before 31 December 2020 in relation to phase 3; on or before 31 March 2021 in relation to phase 4.

I have a six figure local retail purchase coming up -- any promos or specific cards I should keep in mind? Want to maximize miles earning -- ideally transferrable to KF as I have more AM than I need.

I hold the following cards at the moment:
- Citi Prestige
- SCB Asia Miles
- Amex CX Elite
- HSBC Visa Signature (set to overseas)
- HSBC Premier MC (set to overseas)
- Amex Platinum Charge
- Amex Platinum Credit Card
- DBS Black Card

Citi Prestige

DBS Black and Citi Prestige both yield normal $6/KF but Citi Prestige will win by relationship bonus

What about Amex Platinum Credit Card:

https://www.americanexpress.com/hk/e...m-credit-card/

3X Membership Rewards points* on spending

On top of a wide selection of items from our Rewards Catalogue, you can also redeem for as low as HK$5=1 air mile^ including Asia Miles/Avios/Kris Flyer Miles and more.
The earn rate of 3 points for every HK$1 spent is applicable to the first HK$120,000 spent during each program period. From HK$120,001 and onwards, every HK$1 spent will entitle to 1 point. Each program period shall run from January 1 to December 31 of each such calendar year
Amex MR earning is confusing to me, but this should work out to 5 HKD / mile for the first $120k right? Hoping I can split the transaction onto two cards and put the remaining amount on Citi Prestige.

Hey everyone -- need advice re Amex Plat. I just received my statement with the annual fee yesterday, payment due 19 March. One of the key reasons I would consider keeping this card another year is the Hilton Gold Status (I need this benefit to ensure free breakfast at an upcoming stay at the WA Maldives).

How exactly does the HHG Status work from an Amex perspective? When I first received the card I 'enrolled' for Gold status with Hilton and my account was upgraded shortly after. Does this process have to be repeated every year upon card renewal (or when HHG expires? When is that?) or is the status automatically kept active as long as the Amex Platinum is active?

If I cancel the Amex now (before statement due date of 19 March) I assume I lose my Hilton Gold status either immediately upon cancellation of the card, or upon the standard Hilton status expiry date of 31 March (?). I definitely need the status in April so I guess my only choice is to either renew the Amex or try and get Gold status another way?

This question got asked either in the Pointstomiles Telegram group or the Amex HK Facebook Group

I think everyone is guessing, but the interpretation I most agree with is (reference https://loyaltylobby.com/2020/02/19/...china-members/):

- you qualified for 2019-2020 Hhonors on 31 March 2019. Your original expiry is 31 March 2020. It is now extended to 31 March 2021.

- if you can keep your Platinum Card alive thru 31 March 2020, then your Hhonors will be valid to 31 March 2022. But I think you will have to pay the $7,800 fee, which is not worth.

I think everyone is guessing, but the interpretation I most agree with is (reference https://loyaltylobby.com/2020/02/19/...china-members/):

- you qualified for 2019-2020 Hhonors on 31 March 2019. Your original expiry is 31 March 2020. It is now extended to 31 March 2021..
Interesting. So the question is -- does my status get downgraded when I cancel the Amex or does it expire on 31 March 2019 as per standard status expiry policy? If the latter is the case, it should probably be extended automatically through Hilton's Greater China extension programme?

EDIT: HFP suggests that you keep the status until the standard expiry date even if the Amex is cancelled prior to that:

You will also retain the hotel status cards until their expiry date even if you cancel your Platinum card for a pro-rata refund.
