CX870 (HKG-SFO) nearly 1hr ahead of schedule

For the past few days ... some tail wind, eh?

EWR - HKG has always been ahead of schedules recently. Most of the time I got in before Airport Express started operating, a little bit annoying...

Certainly looks like some nice tailwinds along the great circle route.

Took CX892 on the 4th and landed early. Without any available gates. Stuck on the tarmac for 30 mins. They a moved KE 777 which probably landed at 1pm and wasn't moved for a few hours.

Not very happy about the congestion at SFO nowadays, but that's another topic.

I noticed these 1 hour ahead of schedule into HKG from North America very common recently. My Sept and Oct this year on CX 829 YYZ HKG were one hour early landing at 4:00am. Others mention the same "trend".

YYZ HKG has always been early for me and for some reason CX started opening the Wing 1/2 an hour later in the mornings to frustrate getting a shower and breakfast.

Same here... I've been on that flight 3-4x this year. Love how it gets in early... since July, flights I've been on have landed in HKG anywhere from 90 mins, to 15 mins early.
Bummer when it gets into lowered-numbered gates, and the automated train isn't running yet.... it's a looooooooooooong walk across the terminal to get to the Pier (just in time for opening, and a hot shower)
