Waiting in line on the Marco Polo hotline. Not fun.

I have it on fairly good authority that some longhauls, in addition to daytime CX279 to CDG, will be cancelled. Lest anyone get false hope their flight will run. Good luck to all.

Hence my words “so far” .
I don’t think anyone will take that as false hope.

Is the airport express train operating as usual? How about their city check in desks, in Central and Kowloon?

Don’t expect anything to be running Monday. I stayed at the Airport Marriott because I didn’t think I could get to the airport in time for my late morning flight.
Sounds like half the city is going on strike. Good for them.

Most Long Haul flights should be ok. It looks like Short Haul flights to regional cities that have multiple frequencies are the ones getting cancelled.

I'm flying YYZ-CTS via HKG. Arriving 5am on the 8th. If the connection to CTS gets cancelled, what should I expect from Cathay? I am on a single ticket with Cathay all the way through.

So far this is just supposed to be a one day city wide strike on Aug 5.

Express is running ok, but Tung Chung Line (local) is severely disrupted and part suspended.
Don’t rely city check in desk today, both stations have limited service if not suspended

Unless you mean weather in MNL, the weather here in HK is beautiful. Of course it is on the day I’m leaving!
A ton of CX flights are cancelled but none of the foreign carriers. As for the cancelled GA flight, I bet that has to do with the black out in Jakarta.
