Award availability & Chinese New Year

Award availability & Chinese New Year
I believe that Cathay restricts award availability for partners in the week before and after Chinese New Year (e.g. you won't find availability for Award reservations on Cathay for redeeming British Airways Avios).
It doesn't appear like the awards are all taken because many flights do not show any reserved seats. So I believe that Cathay is just not making any awards available to its partners.
Is there any knowledge if Cathay will black out these weeks or will award space open up? Any insights from the past? Thanks.

Oh, sorry, my fault. I was looking at intra-Asia routes such as HKG-ICN, HKG-TPE, HKG-BKK, HKG-TYO or HKG-SIN. Thanks.

On most other weeks I can see up to 5 C seats available through BA Avios. Too bad, I believe I can keep on checking and hoping for some last minute availability to show.
