Third world problem!

Have a trip coming up in third quarter this year. Wonder which side (window seats in J) offers best views of the mountain ranges.

TIA

BTW, had tried "search" in vain.

The flight arrives in KTM in darkness so you’re going to need a full moon and a cloudless night. As the airport always uses the northerly runway for arrivals, the right hand side (K seats) will give the best opportunity for viewing the Himalayas on the approach.

Equally... ‘A’ seats outbound.. but again. Night departure. You’ll see very little.

You won't see anything. The cabin is far too bright to see out the windows. Maybe you'll see a little something if it's a full moon, clear skies and no cabin lighting.

Thank you all for your insight. Yes, I will be inbound near FULL MOON (and hope for clear sky). So K window it is!

KHG? Does KA now flies to Kashgar (Xinjiang) via Kathmandu?

Anyway, if you are flying to HKG, the flight is flying to the south of Himalayas, so A seats. But (1) the Cathay Dragon flight isn't a scenic one but flies towards southeast to Dhaka after taking off in KTM, and (2) based on my experience (and also as many have said), the cabin is much brighter than outside at the time the flight is flying out of Nepal, your chance of seeing the Himalayas is quite minimal. You may roughly see some mountains/hills at best.
