there was never real competition w hx/uo as a state owned company, which provides cr@p service at .... price which cx needs to compete against. it only whipped cx to cut more service in order to match price.

HNA-backed HX/UO is not HKG-based either despite HKG AOC

A firm of solicitors acting for a shareholder of an intermediate holding company of HKE has written to the Company indicating an intention to contest the Seller's entry into an agreement for the Transaction... (CX) has the right under the Share Purchase Agreement to terminate the Share Purchase Agreement if proceedings are commenced to prevent the Transaction
sounds like an unfair prejudice action to me

Operating out of the most expensive cities, with union limiting the ability to outsource for foreign manpower (i.e. crew), it's not surprising.
If you are speaking of "most expensive" origin, taking the same destinations (HKG-LHR vs SIN-LHR, HKG-LAX vs SIN-LAX), pricing is quite similar, if not cheaper from HKG.

Ironically Cathay uses foreign crew for both your examples. Lol. But I get your point

Are you counting the ones at Seletar? Or the non-used military one?
Otherwise there must have been some /s there...Singapore has 2, just like HKG last time I checked.

But yes, can't imagine this will be remotely good for the ex-HKG pax...

I would expect CX would grab UO's daytime slots for their more expensive flights while all the cheap flights would leave in the overnight hours.

Keep thinking SIN has four. They have two and are going to build a third.

But even with two there're three things going for SIN - a) no sky wall b) much smaller Southern Malaysia catchment area (HKG serves Southern Guangdong) and c) SIN Govt is relatively relaxed about bilaterals
