What do you mean by the four trips ?

I normally book PE in BA then UUA or if isn't available which is very rarely the case, I just buy the leg in J. These normally gets me close enough to the BA Silver but if I don't have enough, I normally do an extra short trip like last week from GLA to LHR in J lol. Pretty pointless to be honest but allows me to choose seats for free when I book.

I personally really like CX but I am not sure why they make it so much harder to do a redemption than the likes of BA. I have booked CX flights using Avios from what I remember 3 returns from GLA to HKG in F and twice in J. Love the service and the lounge not to mention the seats.

Oh. You're UK based. OK then.

Still I think OWS is worth more to you than whatever advantages you get in redemption.

I understand that you can purchase extra needed miles if you have 70% miles available.
What is the cost of Asia miles/1K miles?
TIA

Thank you. Can you also tell me at what time does CX release their schedules?
For example, I know that JL releases their awards precisely at T-330 6 PM PST (extrapolated from local Tokyo time). Hence if one calls exactly at that time, one's chances of getting those highly valued F awards are excellent; call later and your chances go down. Similarly, AA will release their awards at T-331 around 3 AM CST.
When I check for CX awards in J on T-353 at random times, rarely there might be availability but usually everything is wait-listed. I am assuming that someone got those awards who looked earlier. Hence, I'd like to know at what time they are released.
TIA

You got the idea right. 00:00 UTC for CX.
If you're seeing nothing that is because CX released nothing.

Help on waitlist HKG-KIX

I am currently having 2 bookings for a round trip HKG-KIX on the following flights:

13.3.2019 CX506 10:30 HKG - 15:00 KIX (econ X class)
17.3.2019 CX503 10:00KIX - 13:25 KIX (econ X class + biz U class)

The 2 bookings are for 4 pax: 2 adults (incl. myself) + 1 child in 1 booking, and 1 adult in another booking (which was added later).

Yesterday the outbound trip for the 1 adult booking got cleared, but not the 3 pax one as I was told that only 1 seat was available for redemption but not 3. Could anyone please help on whether it is likely that the waitlist will get cleared ? As it is for a family trip, if it is not likely then I will just purchase tics. Thanks a lot!

Btw I was playing around to search if there are any married segments on CX and BA
I managed to find CAN-HKG-ICN on BA on Y/PEY/J they were all available by using AVIOS
On the other hand, when I search for the same route departing on the same day
CX showed nothing until I push the button to Economy Tailored
The same happened on CX to all Y/PEY/J standard awards

Interesting, isn't it? I call it a scam while CX claimed they have increased redemption seats by 20% or more after the 22/6 change
