I also want to thank you synthkeys for your help earlier. After reviewing your post regarding the loads, I was able to play around a few flights and found one that leaving from EWR on Jan 6 in R class, allowing for possible upgrade if needed.

I too understand there's no guarantee on these redemption games but your input has certainly helped us dig deeper and find ways to make the combo works! Thank you!

I managed to call Asia miles and put me on waitlist for First, Business and premium economy.

What happens if Premium economy clears already tomorrow?
Will my chances to fly Business or first then disappear?


And also, I saw that "Business choice" was availible for this flight for 40k AM...


What options do I have?
Any recommendations?

That's easy. None. CX might release start of public holiday close in but return on end of public holiday from Japan? No.

21 Feb 2020 (barring any CX IT computer mistakes where they release redemption inventory like an error fare)

Some people can handle that eg YVR Uncle who has residences on both ends of HKG-YVR and can essentially wait for days for J/F redemption tix.

I have JFK-YVR waitlisted on Sunday 24 November for F award (lowest rate, 40,000 points each way). Any thoughts on clearing? Flight is F3 A3.

Interestingly the return YVR-JFK on 26 November which was F2 A2 was immediately confirmable.

To add some color to my own question, looking at this coming week, it's available every day (save Monday 11 November when the flight is F0), so it seems to open up a week prior. Every day this coming week is available through next Sunday (it's Sunday here now), and then it goes waitlist every day thereafter.

At least outbound, forget it.

14 Dec AU-HKG have been set upon by the entire China/HK Tiger Mum population in Australia on 19 Dec 18. My sister in law has been part of it until I took over.

Even 31 Dec is hot, my brother is taking back my nephew that night - think he's trying to min stay my mother, initially I redeemed him for after the New Year.

Waitlist chances for SFO-HKG route?
Hello all, I'm new to Asia Miles and trying to redeem my points for an award booking from SFO - HKG.

Currently waitlisted for the following flights on December 20, 2019. What would be my chances of these awards clearing? I won't get confirmation until 3 days before, otherwise it'll expire.

CX879 - business
CX873 - business/first class
CX893 - business

Could someone please provide some instructions on how to view the seat availability in Expert Flyer and/or KVS? Thank you!
