No show on second leg of reward booking- penalties?

Situation:
Airport A to Airport C = x miles
Airport A to Airport B = X + Y miles (more expensive)
Airport A to Airport C with a layover at Airport B = X miles.

If i take the last option and get off at Airport B (layover airport which is more expensive), will there be any no-show fees, OR will they adjust the miles debited to add in the additional Y?

IMHO, Asiamiles awards are based on total distance of all sectors.
So, the opner's senario has to be a very tricky routing.
(maybe, glitch of one-way and roudtrip awards?)
Usually, A-B is less than A-xB-C, and B-C is less than A-xB-C, and A-C is less than A-xB-C.

With mixed-cabin tickets it A-B-C can end up costing less than A-B.

Example:
JFK-HKG in First Class: 125,000 AM
JFK-HKG in First Class, HKG-SYD in Business: ~107,000 AM
